I haven't used the word lock ever, but if there is ever a time to use it on a slight favourite now is the time!! Federer is one the biggest chokers ever, when facing Nadal. He almost always choked against Nadal in grand slams finals even when he was the better player (7-5 on all surfaces other than Clay pre-2012) Case in point, Federer converted 2 out of 30 break points in grands slam finals in back to back years!! 2 out of 30! That is unheard of! He simply becomes a mental midget when facing Nadal. I mean watching the 2007 French Open final was pitiful. Federer choked away 17 break points converting on only one! Please save it saying Nadal was better on that day, Federer choked and it was awful to watch. If you're good enough to get 17 break points in men's tennis you should win the match especially when you're the goat...for now! This final is the biggest ever match for Federer and his legacy to hold onto the GOAT title! If he wins, Nadal will never catch his grand slam total! However when he loses Nadal will only be 2 slams behind, and he should have one or two more French titles in him. He will catch Federer and there will be no more argument on who the goat is! This will weigh immensely on the mental midget, making it impossible for him to win! Barring injury, Nadal -125 the easiest bet to call! It's a "lock"

I agree. I just can't get myself to bet it... I don't understand. Must be the fandom taking over.

You're absolutely right. Rafa owns Fed's mind.

I went back and looked at the odds of Fed > Rafa in the Basel final. Fed was a massive -280 fave. I don't remember the circumstances and the reasoning for that. Just makes no sense to me. Also, thought it was much longer ago in the past but it was just 14 months ago.

Fandom makes it all the easier to bet! I'm a huge Federer fan, so I don't mind losing a couple of hundred to see Federer win!

Not rubbing in the loss. Sorry whenever someone loses money and I have no idea if it was a good bet or not.

With that said, Nadal would have to win a few more Grand Slam titles than Federer to be considered better than Federer. I think 9 of his Grand Slams are on clay at the French. In other words, do to the specificity of the surface Nadal dominates on, he would not be considered better than Federer.

I do agree that Federer struggles mentally against Nadal on some level, though.

Anyway, sorry it didn't work out and get a winner on your next bet

Uh against Nadal, yes he was a choker and mental midget. How else do you explain 2 for 30 in break points!

Last I check he has a losing record against Nadal overall regardless of surface. Numbers show Nadal > Roger period
