Only one closer in baseball has been better since May.

RHP Mariano Rivera has a 19-game scoreless streak covering 20 innings.
(Updated 06/29/2005).

Rivera has not allowed a run since MAY 6th.

Rivera has given up just 1 ER since April 6th!!!!!

If Gagne didn't win the MVP two years ago, there's no way any closer should ever win the award.

Cordero has been unbelievable. I remember back a couple of weeks ago when the Nationals were playing the Angels in Anaheim. With the Nationals up 1 run in the bottom of the ninth, Cordero loaded the bases with no out. He eventually got out of the jam without giving up a run and he got the save. That was a great performance

I beg to differ, Mr. Jones from  Atlanta is closing the gap quickly!

How can you say hands down.

Cordero IS the Nationals.

90% of his saves are 1 run games!

They have Gagne the Cy Young. There was no way he was going to get both. personally, I think Prior or Schmidt deserved it that year.

He is a great player having a great year...but that comment is laughable.

THE Nationals have to win a game for 8 innings before he is even relevant.

Carlos Lee is putting up MONSTER numbers for anyone who cares. Just think he could be the NL MVP and Podsenik could be the AL MVP (right now he should).

Carlos Lee would have a nice batting avg too if he didn't face the best pitching staff in the league!! 0-23 on the season vs. Cardinals pitching! WOW instead of .272 avg, he would be batting .295.

All I know if he has 72 rbis with no leadoff hitter. Best pitching at the end of the year will be the Cubs, not the Brewers.
