N.D Fans...Does this lose show Charlie the Door!

How many times was ND in the red zone Saturday, only to come up with zero points? I'm not sure how that's Weis's fault when the QB fumbles on the 1 and the wideout lets a ball hit him in the back on the 3. Weis isn't getting the job done, but why would this game be the deciding factor?

Well I still think that if we win out, Weis stays. Wins @Stanford and vs. UConn might keep him around.

I don't think ND should go the up and comer route with Fitzgerald, nor the NFL route with Gruden. If we can get Brian Kelly and we are sure of this, I would support the decision to fire Weis this year. I know he has a nice thing going on at Cincy but they don't make movies about coaches at Cincinnati (or Florida). He would be a legend if he took ND to the National title game.

One thing is for sure, whoever takes over this ND team with find a program loaded with talent. But Weis being fired means Clausen leaves, Golden likely goes, we lose a top 10 recruiting class this year, x number of transfers. It's not worth it to set the program back 2-3 years unless we're getting a proven, top notch coach and right now, Brian Kelly is the only viable option.

ND is not gonna beat Stanford. If a Navy pilot can look like Barry Sanders, how bad is Gerhart gonna make that ND defense look? And if they stack the box, that QB is going to burn them all day long.

I'm a ND fan and I think Pitt and Stanford are losses. Even UCONN may be, but they'll probably win that one in the final seconds, just like most of their wins.

A telling stat I saw during the Purdue-ND game was that ND roughly has the same record as Purdue for the last 5-7 years.

Now ND may not be what they once were. But you can't tell me that they shouldn't be recruiting better and winning more than Purdue. That is unacceptable. The next coach has to have a slam dunk resume' as a head coach.

That was what I was thinking....I don't know how that works. I guess because a play was never run the timeout was being used regardless.

I saw he is 35-25, not very impressive considering they play some serious scrubs. The only thing about being ND, is you get everybody's best shot.

The bottom line is its a lesson learned. There is noway they go back to the NFL for a coach. It will be either Meyer, Stoops, or Kelly IMO... Ill be shocked if its anyone else, even though I would love for them to give Al Golden a look.
