I will give Mybookie a small shot this NFL season. However, as AK said, this guy only got paid because he came to the forums. That concerns me. How do we know that they are not others in a similair situation but we don't know about it on the forums?

truth,

i dont know about the past, but this paragraph in mikes post will make it so we wont have to worry about future players not knowing about watchdog sites....

"We are also going to implement some player dispute policies in which RX, MW, and SBR web addresses and email addresses will be made available to players vis our web sites. This being an unregulated industry these sites do in fact hold operators to a certain set of standards."

MYBOOKIE TOOK A BAD SITUATION AND TURNED THINGS AROUND AND HANDLED IT VERY WELL. THEY GET A BIG THUMBS UP IN MY BOOK.

i dont think i can EVER remember a post like this one from a book....

Strong arm a customer to accept 40K or nothing of a 125K balance.

Have him sign a document agreeing to this.

When your actions hit the forum you say you are 100% in the right because he signed the document.

It took you this long to realize you were wrong?

Absolutely frightening!

Mike,

Thanks for your apology, especially to the posters. While I know your character and I have met you personally, the majority of our gamblers have not...

I am proud of the way you handled yourself throughout the investigation and it is nice knowing you value the The General's and my opinion...

whoever is thinking about signing up with them, i'd think twice:
i play $200 per play, i made 3 deposits and 3 withdraws for a net profit of <$1000 in a 4month span, and they reduced my limits to $50 per play..took away the free 1/2 point and 1/2 juice promos on my account..i'm not trying to bash them, but that's my experience with them, i would agree that they're a deposit only book....i still wanna know how they let that whale have that much per play and is afraid of my action...

They've done the right thing, overall it was alot of bread were talking about here, well over $300 grand in total. They paid after a little fuss but they paid.

This book will be around for a long time no doubt.

Thanks for coming clean with us. That was a really classy move!

Working with the watchdogs and being more open with us will sure boost confidence for a lot of players in posting up with you guys, myself included.

Nice job! :103631605

Whales

FWIW - any small, medium or even limit bet players should not confuse themselves with "whales" who are few and far between. Any book who writes a whale will extend limits a long way to accomadate a genuinie whale and still maintain their normal operating model with the rest of their customer base. Some books will go as far as using a single clerk to handle the whale only. Most will keep his action out of their need charts. A whale is a special circumstance customer and attracts all kind of books, touts, agents etc. all trying to get a piece of the action. Books will send expensive gifts to whales, pay large commisions to anyone who can deliver a whale, and basically bend over backwards to keep him playing in their office. Letting a whale bet 25k a game has nothing to do with the policy of cutting back a dime per game player, apples and oranges if there ever were such a thing.

I am very glad to see MyBookie take responsibility and settle this matter, say what you want about their motives regarding the 85k, in the end they did the right thing and paid off the bets they wrote. Which is the one thing I hear around here more often than anything else "you book a bet you pay if it wins". Kudos to all involved getting this player paid.

This is a very dangerous practice by MYBOOKIE. This is the same thing that brought down the once great ESB (Telebet) English Sports Betting. They used to be the supreme sportsbook but had a few whales that they let hammer them over and over till they ran out of money and became a deposit only sportsbook.

Somehow I had missed this thread. WHat I find most interesting is that Mike talks about this signed agrrement he had with the player to accept just 30%. What about the inital agreement that every player has with the book, whihc is if we win we get paid 100%. If Mike was so willing toss that agrrement to the wind, and change the agreement to only 30%, why was it any suprise to him that they player would seek to get back all the money that was rightfully do him.

Also, if he admits that he was wrong, why not do something to compensate the player for the fact that he ahd to wait a month to get paid. No offense, but when you treat someone like crap, withhold 85k for one month, i think the player deserves more than "sorry, I think you're a crook, legally I owe you nothing, but I'll finally pay you anyway out of the kindness of my heart."

But what i am most curious about is when did you decide to pay this player in full. Your posts was made on the 30th. But I believe it was on the 26th that Kenny announced asettlement was reached. Was the settlement that was reached on the 26th to pay the player in full, or was it only later after continued bad press did you finally consent to paying the player in full. And if the agreement you reached on the 26th wasn't to pay the player in full, what was the agreement.

This Is Not Bashing, Just Telling The Truth...

Mybookie Is A Terrible Book, They Have Clone Lines, Low Limits, And Their Cs Is Brutal..why Play There?? It Makes No Sense...books Should Be Held To The Same Standards As Players..if A Player Got Caught Cheating They Would Be Blacklisted....but..when A Book Cheats, They Always Get Let Off The Hook...you Boys Know Petey Jr Shots Straight From The Hip, And My Advice Is Stay Away From Mybookie.....
