I would be willing to bet into this with 20cent lines if it were offered.

The first book that does this gets my business, even if you are a D rated book.

This would be a hit.

Come on sportsbooks!

And before everyone starts talking about 5 inning lines, thats not enough variance for me. You have to go thru the batting order at least 2.5 times for my taste.

There is a huge diff in the way you cap a game with 5,8 or 9 inning lines.

You'll see these right after NBA offers lines for first 42 minutes and NHL offers line for the first 55 minutes. What an idiotic request

I actually was going to offer a similar example: offering lines for the first 3 quarters in NBA & NFL and offering lines for the first 2.5 periods in NHL.

The same reasons would have applied that people would throw in:

"I want 1st 3 quarters so that a high favorite won't get backdoored in the 4th quarter against a mediocre team."

"I want to play an underdog on +1.5 puckline because I think they will keep the game within one goal, but blast it, they give up an empty-netter down by 1 (in trying to tie the game) with 30 seconds to go to lose by 2!"

Chop, since you say this would be an idiotic comparison, could you explain how you can't cap whether a closer is able to close out a potential-save situation against the opponent's batters?

Even if sportsbooks gave you your wish of 8-inning lines, that only eliminates capping blown saves by a closer. But how about long relief & set up pitchers who let the tying & winning runs score from 2nd & 3rd bases left by the starting pitcher in the 6th or 7th inning? This happens quite plenty so how would a 8-inning card (even with 20 cent lines as you mentioned) be helpful to us as bettors?

Cheers,

Chop,Didn't think my NBA/NHL comparisons are any different than your 8 inning proposal. You'll never see an 8 inning line.I understand the frustration of seeing bullpens implode and blow game after game thats where I see the value in 5 inning lines where the starting pitchers carry much more weight than the full game lines.

Chop, still bitter about those blown saves from last year?

B/t/w I hadn't heard back from you from that email i sent you a couple weeks ago, get back to me if you get the chance.

Damm, sorry about that Dsethi. I forgot all about that email. Just got home from a long ordeal.

I will pull it up and send it tonight.

Thanks for reminding me.

Good luck this season.

Chop,

My honest opinion is that you need to get in a better state of mind for the upcoming season. So much energy is focused on last year's blown saves that caused you losses, so much so that you are looking for 8 inning lines before the season has even started.

My advice, not that you asked, is to let it go. Blown saves are not bad beats for the most part. They are just part of the game, just as the river card is part of poker, and the 4th quarter is part of the NBA.

Put it behind you, move on, and focus energy on handicapping and money management. You have the desire to be very good, but you fall into square territory with bitching about every break that doesn't go your way.

Just my honest thoughts trying to help.
