I am going with a 5 team parlay on week 2:

1. Alabama - Nebraska held FAU to 7 points on week 1. Time for Bama to score some points themselves, Nebraska scored 55 points and had 784 total yds. Will Saban let Kiffin unleash the offense. They should have a lot of success running which should help the passing game. The defense should have shut out on it’s mind in this one

2. Arizona - beat UNLV 58-13 with 787 total yds. UTSA got by Houston who turned the ball over 6 times. UTSA held the Cougars to minus 26 yds rushing. That ain’t gonna happen against Arizona.

3. South Alabama – they were idle on week one and travel to Kent St for their opener. LW Kent St lost to Ohio who won despite 4 TO’s. Kent St had only 31 yds rushing. The Jaguars ended last season with 3 nice wins and finished 6-6. They return 9 on offense but are unproven at QB. They return their top receivers though. S Ala prevailed in last year’s matchup 38-21.

4. Penn St- had 511 yds against UCF but just barely squeeked by 26-24. They held UCF to 24 yds rushing on 29 attempts. Akron shut out Howard 41-0 but Howard rushed for 148 yds. Penn St only had 57 yds rushing on 28 carries. Maybe there was something in the Dublin water. I look for Penn St to do better rushing and Hackenburg lit it up last week with 454 passing yards.

5. Kansas St – Kansas St won their opener 55-16 and have week 3 off. Iowa St was outgained by N. Dakota st 503yds to 253yds. HC Snyder will probably let it all hang out on week 2. They have week 3 off before hosting Auburn on week 4. I think Snyder will keep them focused and will work on their running game. LW N. Dakota St rushed 43 times for 299 yds against Iowa St.

Here are my top underdog picks for week 2:

USC - Michigan St - BYU - SMU - Michigan

Not sure I like Penn state coming off the Ireland trip. Boys might be tired.

Take a look at Colorado state this week as a live dog at Boise. If you look at the box score from last year you'll see Colo St dominated that game in yards and a 2/3 time of possession. I like the RB from Bama that transfered in. Tough runner. They ran all over the Buffs in the 4Q last week. I know Boise is tough on the blue turf, but they aren't the Boise of yesteryear. GL

I think Penn St will do just fine. They will be anxious to play in front of their home crowd and they showed a lot of promise against UCF. Over 500 yds total offense and good line play on both sides of the ball.

Colorado may or may not be a good team to use as a barometer. I would say Boise St does fit that bill. I am holding off of that one as Boise is at home and was a little embarrased last week. Good luck on you bet though.
