This Chalibi thing takes the cake.

I really believe Bush is a good man and his heart is in the right place but I now believe he is surrounded by criminals, and people dishonest and disloyal to him....George Tenent is a boffoon.Cheny is either a war criminal or stupid.Rumsfeld is clueless.
Come June 30 if the new Iraqy goverment wants the US to stay then stay if they say get out,get out.
I was all for this thing, WMD or not, but the lack of planning for after takeover has been a complete disaster.
I can't believe there was no contigency plans. for any of what could go wrong.
It looks like this Fallujah thing has settled and the right move there...Hopefully they can settle Sadr phoney.

I really feel that they (the Admin) believed that the invasion was absolutely urgent and justified. Indeed if you are on the moral side of the arugument, and even for the sake of geo-political stability (control over precious natural resources), these may be valid justifications.
I was in favor of waiting longer and lining up more of our allies. This was critical in my opinion to the success in the aftermath.

My personal feeling is that there are 3 "war hawks" who should be sent to Siberia to hand drill for oil (closest would be Barrow, AK).

1. Deok Cheney.....he serves his masters well and it ain't the common folk! He should play the title role in the new Grich sequal.

2. Wolfowitz.....what a pathetic world view, he should run the prison in Iraq

3. Condomleeza Rice....her expertise was in soviet geopolitics. Not a clue about the Middle East. She is the most dangerous woman on earth as the Prez. does what she advises. I think a nice Emeritus teaching position at an men's all-white college in South Africa would suffice.

Get rid of the 3 and I would support a Bush re-focusing on the elimination of world terrorism.
This I am certain of--going after the Militant Muslim Scum was absolutely necessary and the only thing to do. Going into Iraq may have been right, but it was too hasty and too much a diversion. Eyes on the ball......eliminate the world terror network.
These monkey's are hiding in a lot of places, Saudi, Syria, Iran, Jordan, et al. These gov'ts have to assist in the eradication. If they don't then they should be held accountable to the highest degree. Cut off all economic and politcal favors/ties.

We all love those products,
99.9% of the items on that list can be made without petroleum, check out the lasted invention by sony, a cd that holds 10x more info than a regular cd and its made out recycle paper.

i need gas to run my car, but i try to be more responsible with it.

Patriot,
Is it merely a coincidence that you haven't expressed this opinion until after the most recent polls show that < 50% of Americans now (for the first time) support the war in Iraq?

Either you have an amazing ability to feel exactly how the masses of Americans (on average) feel or are you simply a follower without the ability to formulate your own opinions based on logical deductions.

Which is it?

Lander...if you knew anything about me you would say that the masses follow my opinion...notice I did not say I was against it and I also basically am still for it...I am not one of these wind surfers that voted for the war before I voted against the war..like that rudder less John "France" Kerry.

My biggest disinllusionment by the way was the thinking that the people of Iraq were wanting freedom like most normal good humans and would embrace it.
I was wrong on both counts (Good and normal)

Fair enough, but I have another question for you.

You state that Bush is a "good person", which is fine and dandy, but do you think that he is an effictive leader?

I ask this because you assert that Bush is surrounded by criminals (which I don't deny either), but isn't making sound choices one of the key ingredients to being an effective leader. If Bush can't even get his administration on the right foot and/or appoint effective cabinet members then how can America possibly believe that he can get America going in the right direction?

WOW, you people sure get discouraged easily. the enemy makes a concerted effort to make us pay a small price in human life( thinking we are weak and will cut and run) and you people are ready to throw in the towel. If you thought it would be easy you were wrong, if you thought it would be quick you were wrong. If you think radical islam can be defeated without sacrifice and suffering and setbacks you are not being realistic. If you cringe every time you hear some news report of large explosions heard in Bagdad( with no casualties)stop watching the news. we owe it to our troops to support them and let them do their jobs - and that means killing the enemy, and the less hand wringing and apologizing from us and the media the better.

Unassing the area looks fine and dandy on paper, but the mess in Iraq is going to spill out into surrounding Gulf areas, especially Kuwait and Saudi, if you leave.

Everyone knows the Wests dependency on oil, its our achilles heel.

After Iraq(if you leave), anyone with half a brain will go after the softer Gulf States and start destabilising them and disrupting their oil outputs.

Saudi
Kuwait
United Arab Emirates

These countries are just American ass lickers as far as the extremists/resistance are concerned.

You've let the genie out of the bottle now.

But unlike South East Asia, you can't just leave when you get pissed off with the way things are going.

70% of the worlds oil comes from there.

The strategic genius GWB will save us all though...

My take on this mess.

While I support our troops, I do not support the President. The only reason I feel this happened was so The Putz could be like daddy. I must also admit that I am not to fond of Mr. Kerry if and when he gets elected. I wonder what Mr. Perot is up to these days.

We are in Iraq for the oil, and thats just the way I see it. Iraq was of no threat to us, especially after Daddy bombed the crap out of them when he was in charge. There haven't been any WMD's found nor do I think there will be, atleast until right before the elections are held.

The amount of money that is being spent over there is absurd. For what, so a country that has no idea of democracy can be like us. It's a joke. Even if we do accomplish something over there the minute we leave there is going to be an uprising or revolt. We need to fix things at home before we need to help out some third world country. Yes, getting rid of Saddam was a good thing but we went to far to do something that should have been done the last time we were over there.

Doesn't it make some of you curious that two canidates can spend over 200 million dollars for a job that pays less than a half mil. We are over there for the oil plain and simple.

Pattriot, very impressed that you're able to see things as they are, not as you thought or hoped they would be. This is the ultimate fatal flaw of this Admin. I narrow view that is unable to admit they have ever done anythign wrong or see things as they are not as they had thought they would be. An extreme inflexibility friven largely by ideology and egoism.

Yes he also has Condi Rice, and Colin Powell, who hold the highest positions in goverment ever attained in US history by Af.Americans who have been good choices.
And despite rising oil prices and terrorist attacks around the world the economy continues to grow thanks to his tax cuts that the libs and media said do not work.
The world Champion Patriots an Bill Belichick has made bad personal choices in the past...do you think Belichik is an ineffective leader??
(I know not a fair comparison but you get my point)

D2...before you find a place for my sandals at the commune..I believe the US is 100% correct in an agressive approach to going after terror breeding countries...stomp them out like vermin and never mind building schools and hospitals and infacstructure.

I hope the new Iraq gov. says get out and we do and then they end up eating each other...and hopefully evolution will reach that area.
