I hope you are correct on Ill. but how many National Championships have they won ? Their early schedule was mostly at home games. I believe their biggest test will be this Tuesday with a road game at Mich. State although their victory at Wisc. was very impressive. If they win Tuesday, I would certainly move them into my top 5 but not in fromt of North Carolina. I have Ill. at 3/1 to win Big 10 so I'm not rooting against them Tuesday. Big game for sure !
Who cares how many National Championships the school has won. How many have these Carolina players won? I don't see how any championships past the current players means anything. What does it matter what happened 5,10, 20, 30 years ago? It doesn't. Syracuse hadn't won (I think, at least not for a long time) one until they did. And if you wanna talk experience, most of the Illini now have a lot of tourney experience under their belts. If you ask me, that means a lot more than what the school happened to do 15 years ago.
And I think Illinois will finally lose on Tuesday....and they will still be the best team in the country. Ask Wake Forest which team is better.
