I've been to reds games every single year and never had one single problem with a fan of an opposing team

Had issues all day today withas cocky pos cubs fans. Had several launch verbal assaults on my father who I took to the game for Father's day.

Lost the last shred of respect I had for the bandwagon jumpers. pure scum. on the level of UK fans imo.

Every fan base has some bad apples. I don't think the 12 fans that were in your section are a sufficient sample size to make blanket statements about tens of millions of people.

I will say this though. The Cubs have been so futile for so long...and speaking from personal experience I can say fans have endured more than their fair share of ridicule. Now that the team has some promise, it's not shocking to see a chip on the collective fan base's shoulder. We're finally good.

I grew up in a town midway between St Louis and Chicago. Town is probably 60/40 Cubs fans to Cardinals fans. Cardinals fans have given Cubs fans CONSTANT shit as long as I can remember. So when we beat them in the playoffs last year, you don't think there was some extra shit-talking coming from Cubs fans?

If roles were reversed, it would be the same from any set of fans. If the Reds went to the NLCS last year and had the best record in baseball, and we were in the cellar...I'm quite sure Reds fans would be giving Cubs fans the business. "Lovable losers", "1908", blah blah fucking blah.

But it's not that way, so suck it.

So you're telling me Cubs fans were just walking up to an old man and berating him, unprovoked? That is hard to believe (but hilarious if true). I've been to probably 100 Cubs games, home and away, including at GAB as I lived in Cincy for 5 years. I just have never seen that happen. I've never seen that happen at a sporting event period. Especially not by away fans to a home fan.

I'm sure the real truth is your dad was flapping his gums, and he got shit talked back to him.
