I was asked in another thread what books I thought were the safest. Since I can't edit the title and not many people are reading the other thread I thought I would repost them here.
===================

My list based on safety of funds would include in NO particular order:

WSEX
SOS
WWTS
Carib
CRIS
GRANDE
OLYMPIC
Pinnacle
Del Mar

I hope I am never proven wrong on the above, but I'd like to think that if you had money spread out at any four of these places, you are in pretty good shape. There are several that you could comfortably send six figures to and sleep at night, (some would argue all of them), and at least one I know you can send seven figures to and your money will be paid out on demand.

There you have it, nine shops. How many outs does a recreational player need?

You rarely see bad ink about any of these places, there's a reason.

Thanks,

BB

I agree with your selections but I think Hollywood and Skybook should also be on this list of yours.

I think Del Mar tried an Internet presence but gave it up. They do credit action, including booking bets of $50k and higher from what I understand.

Dave, I would imagine most local Vegas bettors dont even bother with offshore. Would that be true? Just curious.

Depends what you mean by Vegas bettors... if you mean the old guys that sit in the race book all day that's one thing. I think the Vegas pros do a minimum of half their action offshore.

JayC, thanks for the list. We all know that you are a man of integrity. It's a shame that the gov't labeled you a criminal, when you were one of the most trusted people in this industry. How are things going know? Do you bet, or have just totally chucked this industry?

SOS is as solid as they come, but their CS is god aweful

Which is why I don't send them $1. Although I can't remember the last time I actually NEEDED some customer service from a book.

I bet, deposit and withdrawal online and never need to talk to anyone about it.... Thankfully.

If you beat Delmar then you are good. They tried going online a few years ago but big brother put a stop to that.
