I placed a rather large wager on GB last week. My contention was that Seattle, for all their defensive accolades, rarely faced a quality qb. Also, I felt that the lack of depth on the d line meant that they could be run on. Green bay, with a hobbled rodgers, moved the ball on seattle, by running it between the tackles ( where seattles team speed is negated) and throwing over the middle to a rookie tight end.
Needless to say, with a hobbled earl thomas, and a quicker rb in Blount , I see ne having success pounding the ball. Last time these 2 met, Brady threw it 55 times. Sunday, I be surprised he throws it 35. Where he will have success throwing it is over the middle to a slightly better tight end who according to one of the many punks on seattle is " not that good" OK. If I were Lane, Id be prepared to get thrown out of the club Sunday. The outside is locked w Sherman ( who may also be a little nicked up?) Maxwell, if u been watching, can be got. Honestly, If I'm brady, I may look at sherman early, maybe test him on a seam throw and see how he s feeling. Beauty of NE is they wont force things. I expect a heavy dose of Blount, and will be betting on him to win mvp of the game . ( By quicker, I think he hits the hole more decisively) Rodgers, with a bum wheel was sacked once for 7 yards. Pats get their center back, and just so the ravens defense isnt signed as a group free agent this week, Seattle, too, can and will be run on.
GB had the game plan to win, in seattle, except their general didn t have the stones to win. If Mike McCarthy were defending the Alamo, we d all be speaking spanish. Bellicheck, maybe a little braver? The dudes as crooked as a dogs hind leg but he aint scared like fat boy. He will coach to win.
Far as seattle offense, lynch is obviously the straw. I like Bellicheck having 2 weeks to prepare for a simple game plan from seattle. Wilson, was absolutely horrible sans 3 minutes last week. Cam Newton 2.0. Hats off to him, he rallied his team, and they believe in him. Read option worries me a bit here. And his scrambling ability is their best chance to pass it. But, seriously, who the hell is getting open? Not Baldwin, and not Kearse. Those 2 getting locked up Sunday by one of the better cb tandems in the nfl. Leaving safteys to concentrate on the seattle running game.
I take Brady over Wilson, I take Bellicheck over Petey, and I like really feel that seattle coming off an comeback for the ages may be little spent. I m not sleeping on Carrol pulling some sneaky shit, but imo, this is a very favorable matchup, on both sides of the ball for NE. Soon as Carson Palmer got hurt, Seattle played very, very average qbs last 2 months and built their stats. Rodgers was pedestrian last week, he really missed some throws for points and they looked a bit out of synch on O. Mis communications resulted in 2 picks, rodgers missed jordy in the ez, and the MOST CONSERVATIVE PLAY CALLING POSSIBLE ended their season. Seattle should not be here and they know it. Patriots have lost last 2 sb, to a team with a insane pass rush. And boys, that ain't seattle.
I need to look at special teams more, and the fact that the masses seem to like NE give me cause for concern but I just cannot see seattle repeating. Love coaching match up and I love qb match up.
