My Strongest NBA Playoff Game This Year...

I absolutely LOVE one of the games tonight and I am willing to put my reputation on the line by using the LOVE word, which I only reserve for my strongest of plays, like ODU games for example...


WASHINGTON WIZZARDS minus 5 1/2 vs. Chicago Bulls


This is surely a MUST WIN game for Washington if they want to have a realistic chance at beating the Bulls for the Series...

Although trailing 2 games to 1, Washington could easily be ahead in this series were it not for a total collapse in Game 2 at Chicago, and the refs not helping them out much either..

However, WASHINGTON showed me a lot by regrouping to easily WIN game 3 at HOME and I expect more of the same tonight against Chicago...

In what I figure to be a double digit WIN, I'd grab the 5 1/2 points SOONER rather than later because I suspect the line will close at 6 come game time...

There are tainted 5 1/2's now, but believe me, they won't last...

Unfortunately, I got a small play on Chi +6 on the other side. I think Chicago regroups in this one and get after it on D. This team has shown to have toughness this yr for such a young team. This ones a tossup, imo, ala Det/Philly yesterday.

What my years of experience has taught me is predicting line moves...

So, how bad can it be if you lay the 5 1/2 now, the line closes at 6, and you have a 1/2 point advantage over your bookmaker??

I'd gladly take that all the time...

SS - take it from me, I know for a fact the Shrink feels badly when his picks here Offshore lose and there is no chance he would pull a so called "Billy Walters" on this forum. Personally I believe these picks are the ones he roots for the hardest even if he happened to have equal or more money on some other game being played simultaneously. If the Shrink posted a play for all or us here at The Rx. you can rest assured he has bet it himself.

In "must win" games, you must look at the team, who's the veteran leaders??? Is the coach "playoff tested"?? Does the crowd rally around them, or are they a "Philly crowd"??

Chicago has more heart, imo. This one could be awfully physical tonight, which favors Da Bulls.

Understand your thought process and reasoning and in an effort to share, I always try to consider the mind set of both teams in order to try and be as unbiased as possible when handicapping. In that vain, consider the mind set of the Bulls. They too realize that this is a pivotal game, one in which should they win, they go home with a 3-1 lead and can close out the series. Washington has excellent athletes and Chicago has the heart and defensive tenacity of their head coach. Believe that you may very well have a solid pick here but for me, due to the above, it remains a pass. Still wishing you and everyone else the best of luck tonight.
