My Station Casinos Last Man Standing Thread

I posted this intro in the college football forum as well.
Station Casinos out here have a contest called Last Man Standing. It's a winner take all contest with the winner getting at least $75K for NFL and $25K for NCAA. Plus, if you happen to win both, you get an additional $100K bonus. I have 5 entries for both NFL and NCAA. All you have to do is pick one game ATS per entry and if you win, you move on. If you lose, that entry is out. You can pick the same game for all of your entries, or mix and match however you'd like. Last year I finished in the top 30 out of about 5,000 ppl.

I will be posting my NFL selections here every Saturday morning.

Week 1 Selections: Preliminary thoughts, looking for suggestions.

Keep in mind that the lines I post may not be the current lines. I must make my selections from a sheet and whatever the lines are on that sheet are the lines that must be played:

Entry 1: Atlanta -3.5
Entry 2: Dallas -5.5
Entry 3: Dallas -5.5
Entry 4: Indy -7.5
Entry 5: Atlanta -3.5

These are not official yet. I would love some feedback. Thanks.

atlanta has a tough game..dolphins looked good in preseason, also indi has a tough opponent jaguars must bounce back after last season drama....i would prefer minnesota and seatle instead..but good luck with those.

Agree on replacing with Minnesota in particular. It his very possible for Pennington to match Ryan in production this week and the Phins D is quite a bit more hard-nosed. They could fully keep it within a FG or pull the outright win. What are you getting with the Jets? I think they win outright in Houston.

Entry 1-3: Dallas -5.5
Entry 4 and 5: San Fran +6.5

Great start for my contest. Still have all five entries alive after week 1. Last year, I only had one entry left after week 1 and still finished top 30. Hopefully I can keep it going for a while.

Very nice man, only went 4-1 myself, lost with HOU unfortunately, but got super luck with BAL so it all evens out

May we get heads up and chop the $75K!

Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of ppl lost with that one. I always wondered that, do they allow for deal making at the end?

But I don't think they post names do they? I think they post by player ID#.

No, not for last man. I don't know about the contest though. They only show how many entries are left on the board at the book.

Thanks JJ. No I didn't enter the Hilton contest. $1500 is a bit too much for a contest for me. ACE did great though.

Week 2 Early Thoughts:

Really like Minnesota -10. Think AP will run all over Detroit and Viking D will really mess with Stafford. Thoughts?

Also like Denver -3. Their D looked really good against Cincy and I think their miracle win vs. Cincy will spark them up.

Carolina +6. This line is only so high because of week 1 performance but I still think Carolina is a very good team. Too many points here.

I dunno about that MIN line. If memory serves me correctly the Lions lost to the Vikes by 1 and 2 last year in their two meetings, while containing AP in both games. I know that doesn't seem right for an 0-16 team, but its documented. I also believe DET is 10-2 as a double digit dog now as well. Double digit home underdogs are probably the way to bet long term right?

I love the JAX pick though, with ARI on Super Bowl hangover and traveling west to play the early game....

i like minny myself but laying double digits on the road idk....they are no match for lions indeed but det home opener may put in some resistence..

denver looks good at a fg difference..browns not that impressive last game..

dont know what to say about carolina they played awfull against philly alot of turnovers, fumbles that team is a mess right now while atlanta looked good against miami.

steelers at -3 seems to be the bet of week 2 imo..good luck.

I really love the Jax game the more I look at it. Zona didn't win one game on the East Coast last year and taking out their end of year run, they really weren't that great of a team last year. Not to mention, haven't won a game all preseason and lost their home opener to division rival. Jax on the other hand played Indy really close on the road and have a very good defense.

Definately leaning towards using at least three of my entries on Jax.
