West
1 LA vs. 8 Utah: LA will definitely win this one but I don't think it'll be easy. I can't see Utah losing 2 times at home which is what will be needed for a 4-0 sweep. I kind of have a hard time thinking they'll lose even one maybe, but I don't see it going 7 either. LA 4 Utah 2
4 Portland vs. 5 Houston: This will be the best West first round matchup. This has 7 games written all over it. I think the streak continues for Houston, just because I don't think they will be able to win in Portland. Portland 4 Houston 3.
3 San Anotnio vs. 6 Dallas: Ginobili going down was a killer blow. I don't think Dallas will lose at home, and the Mavs have too much offensive firepower to not think they can pull off 1 game in SA. Dallas isn't the best road team, but the Spurs don't impress me. Dallas 4 San Antonio 2
2 Denver vs. 7 New Orleans: Interesting series, but I think Denver is a decent amount better then NO. Billups can match up with Paul, and NO doesn't have the firepower to hang with New Orleans, while Denver themselves are an average defensive team, which was an improvement over last year. Denver 4 New Orleans 1.
1 LA vs. 4 Portland: LA just has too much firepower. I think the Blazers can get 1 off them though. LA 4 Portland 1
2 Denver vs. 6 Dallas: I see another tough series here. I've gotta go with the home court though because I don't think either wins in the other arena. Denver 4 Dallas 3.
1 LA vs. 2 Denver: Don't see Denver being able to hold serve at home. Should be a fun series, but see it ending in 6. LA 4 Denver 2.
East
1 Cleveland vs. 8 Detroit: Detroit doesn't do anything for me. I'd call a sweep, but my head says they'll win at least 1 game. Cleveland 4 Detroit 1
4 Atlanta vs. 5 Miami: I look forward to this series. Atlanta was memorable the post-season before vs. Celtics, but they have played lackluster as of late. I don't see them slowing down Wade. Miami 4 Atlanta 2
3 Orlando vs. 6 Philadelphia: Thaddeus Young returning will help them, but they just arn't good enough and Orlando surprisingly has become a solid defensive team. Orlando will hit too many 3's. Should be another short series. Orlando 4 Philadelphia 1
2 Boston vs. 7 Chicago: Some people will go for the upset because of no KG. May have been right if it was an Atlanta or someone else, not the Bulls though. Boston 4 Chicago 1.
1 Cleveland vs. 5 Miami: Wade vs. Lebron. Probably the best 2nd round matchup in the playoffs IMO. I think Cleveland does get one in Miami and holds serve at home though. Cleveland 4 Miami 2.
2 Boston vs. 3 Orlando: I think this one goes 7, and should be a great series. Even if there is no KG, I still see it going 7. I like Boston though to win it. Boston 4 Orlando 3.
1 Cleveland vs. 2 Boston: I just don't see either team winning on the road and I think LeBron wins it for them in game 7, with or without KG. Cleveland 4 Boston 3
Finals
1 Cleveland vs. 1 LA: Now this will be great. I want it to go 7 because who doesn't want a 7 game final. The 2-3-2 format will make it imperative that Cleveland wins the first 2, since I don't think they'll win in LA. I want 7 games, but think LA wins game 6. I don't think Cleveland can beat LA 4 times in Cleveland, just don't. LA 4 Cleveland 2.
