man, i'm not trying to be a dick, but you either need some zoloft, or to try and avoid coming down off coke so often....you start some depressing threads, 2 or 3 of em in 2 days

it's not normal

I even have to tell them to not worry about cheering for their favorite team sometimes, they're not going to change the outcome

if they have no interest in the game, they have an interest vicariously through me

what kind of friend wants to see you lose? seriously?

Agree with Willie above.

Jimmy you sound like a nice guy with a pretty good sense of humor judging by some of your posts above.

Maybe you shouldn't even fill your "friends" in anymore on what teams you're on...

I don't find it that surprising...

Most people want their friends to be successful, just not MORE successful than yourself. That's human nature.

Same goes for this forum. Look at the cappers that do well that aren't a-holes. There are people that bump their losing threads for no reason even if they won 10 nights in a row before. I think some take more joy in watching others lose than they do when they win.

solution: don't tell them what side you are on and just watch the game without any emotion that could give them hints. If you win, give em the middle finger and say, "yea mothafuckas!"

If you lose, say, "yea mothafuckas!"

People are jealous dude.

There's a famous quote that goes something like "It's not enough just to win, your friends must lose"

when it comes to gambling, id say yes. most of my close friends gamble on sports. we all sort of got into it together one way or another. if they are not on the same bet as me, i think we call kind of hope the other one doesnt win to be honest, bc if it does win we are pissed we didnt follow the play and think about the money we could have won, and in our mind kind of proves to us that we were smart not to follow the play, and in some sick way justify's our ability to pick games to bet.

if my friend says hes betting $1200 on a 4 team college ml parlay to win 1200 and i dont throw any cash on it, i almost truly wishes it doesnt hit, bc i know all be pissed i didnt do the same bet, top it off if my own picks are doing bad, its twice as bad. last thing i want then is his texting me $1200 winner, free trip to vegas when im 3-7 on the day and down 400 etc

Yes. This.

I think kidman is right on and I agree it's just human nature. People are haters. Don't take it so seriously.

I've experienced it too. People don't wanna hear about somebody else winning a bunch of cash on a random sporting event, so they'd rather you lose as a lesson that "it's not that easy to acquire money".

I blame almost all of it on ignorance. My best friends that do gamble root for me...or at least they tell me they do lol

Boom

Same boat

Only thing is I do not believe they want me to win, I sense they want me to lose

Not sure why but it bothers me sometimes

I keep all my gambling to myself unless of course I come across an internet forum full of other degenerate gamblers

My guess is your friends are OK and the real problem is your own paranoia and mental health issues that prevent you from seeing how things really are

I dunno man. All the people aware of any gambling I may do... including very close friends all the way thru casual friends... I've never sensed or heard anyone rooting against me. That's f'd up. I don't make a habit of broadcasting my wagers, but if I share the info with a friend, they are on my side - just as I would be on theirs.

As a quick remedy for the OP's F'd up situation... maybe offer to buy a round of drinks if your with some "friends" watching your game at a bar. get them involved in the reward. I don't know what else to suggest aside from find new friends.
