Here is my next choice: Bad Boys II over hulk.

Ebert's "Star Wars" 2: Which movie will get more stars?

The Hulk -155
Bad Boys II +115

For the value, I'm going with Bad Boys II. The first one was all action with no plot, where is this one has a Great story... the screenplay is getting terrific reviews. (almost no one knows this) Plus Ebert likes Will Smith.

Now the Hulk on the other hand... looks ridiculously FAKE. The trailers look stupid... and Ebert is going to trash it. I know this man like I know the palm of my hand.

Take advantage of the value. Again, easy money!! $$$

PS: in your face, RB!

Good luck on that Gil, might play it with you, need to do some research first. I do agree that the trailers for Hulk havent been that impressive..
I took Charlies Angels (-120) to beat DumbandDumberer...I just expect D&D to be a total dud but I am biased.

Ebert's past ratings of comic book flicks:

Batman: Ebert's a shitthead. He gave this classic film only 2!! stars and then gives Batman Forever which was mediocre at best 2.5 stars!

X-Men: 2.5 stars
X-Men United: 3 stars

Spiderman: 2.5 stars
here's the interesting part: On his review of Spiderman, Ebert states that the reason for the low rating is because of the unbelievable aspects of the film. In other words, it didn't seem real despite all the computer effects. He says Spidey didn't seem to have "flesh and blood" and was moving from building to building wayyyy too quickly and easily making it all hard to believe. He then states that what made Superman and Batman believable was that the characters had "weight and importance." Now, if you've seen the same previews of Hulk that I've seen, you know he looks extremely fake. Hulk looks a bit better on a large theatre screen than a kitchen TV, but still you get the point...

Will Smith's films:

the highest rating for a film starring Smith is 3.5 stars for Legend of Bagger Vance. All others are shitt:
Ali: 2
Enemy of the State: 3 stars
Independence Day: 2.5
Bad Boys: 2
Man in Black:3
Man in Blk 2: 1.5
Wild Wild West: 1

IMO, it's a hard call. Knowing all of this at the moment, if I had a gun to my head, I'd chose Hulk. Despite how weird it looks in the previews, it might look a lot better watching it throughout when it comes out in theatres. Plus, better actors and an aclaimed director (Ang Lee). On the other hand, Bad Boys II looks like shitt to me. I don't think Will and Martin's comedy in the film will appeal to Ebert. I'm guessing 2.5 to 3 stars for Hulk and 2 stars for Bad Boys II.

Just from watching the previews, I think Bad Boys 2 will be a better movie. The thing that keeps me from taking BB2 here is that the Hulk fanboys on the message boards keep raving about how great the classic Hulk story is and how it's going to make a billion dollars and change this year, lol. O.K., maybe the story part might be true. So far all I know about BB2 is I think the car crash scenes in the preview look awesome, it looks like it's going to be a slick, well directed movie.
Not really much to go on here, except Gil makes a pretty good case for BB2 if it's true about the screenplay. If Ebert didn't buy CG spidey swinging through the city, I don't see how he's going to enjoy BAD CG Hulk running through the desert at 100 mph throwing tanks around and shit. It looks a bit cartoony.

LOL. (tears) Precisely my point. The HULK looks so bloody fake it's ridiculous. You must remember, Ebert is an old man, probably watched the old Hulk tv show with muscle man Lou playing the hulk. A human. This cartoon is going to drive him crazy.

Legend of Bagger Vance: 3.5
Man in Black: 3
Enemy of the State: 3 stars

Since when is 3 stars a bad rating? Whatever, buddy. How many Ebert bets am I going to have to win before you people clue in.

Passing up +120 on this is totally crazy. Plus th limit is $110.

best,

Gil

Gil, I'm not saying 3 stars is bad. But those three movies are not along the line of a film like Bad Boys.Nevertheless GL bud.

not that it will help, but there's a leaked "work print" of the Hulk on the net. Haven't seen it but I'm trying to grab it on Kazaa.

Bad Boys II still at +130. I won't touch Hulk because of its line but I think Hulk is the way to go here. The newest previews look awesome and the movie seems to have lots of drama and not just action. Coming from Ang Lee, that is what I expected from the beginning. Keep betting Bad Boys II Gil so it'll drive Hulk down and I then I can play it!

It's official. Hulk received two thumbs up from Ebert and Roepert. How the thumb will translate into stars, I'm not sure. But definitely 3 or better. I'm betting it's a 3.5.

Bad Boys will lose the star war to Hulk.
