The lottery is a tax on the poor. Here in Florida you have a 1 in 6 million of being struck by lightning vs 1 in 23 million of winning the lottery. The lesson. Take a one iron wherever you go in FL. Thank you Lee Trevino for the joke about avoiding lightning "Even God can't hit a one iron" or somehting like that.

TRUE STORY!

my sister's roomie in college one day called back home to see how the lotto was doing - and the results.

she spoke to her grandmother.

she reads the numbers to grandma - and tells grandma to let her know when a number she hears is one on her ticket - to which the grandmother agrees to do.

so the 1st number gets read - and grandma says she has it.

2nd number gets read - and grandma says she has it.

3rd number - ditto

4th number - ditto

5th number - ditto (and by now sis' roomie is trembling thinking grandma could hit the lotto jackpot)

6th number gets read - and when grandma says she has that one, TOO, sis tells me her roomie went nuts - excited grandma won the lottery. the roomie is imagining the things she will do with the money she knows she will get from grandma.

the roomie then asks grandma, "you have all 6 numbers on the same line!?" - to which grandma replies, "no, but i have all 6 on my ticket!"

sis tells me her roomie near had a heart attack and then almost died laughing when she realized what grandma had done.

The usual jackpot story:

Someone wins an obscene amount of money they probably won't or can't spend......and they decide to keep working....

Now he's got like 7 million dollars....plus whatever that grinds out in interest....but let's make sure we don't run out of money so we best keep working and earn that extra 300 bucks a week.....

Lotteries just make me sick cuz it seems whoever wins it never intends to spend any of it.....

Personally instead of getting up at 6 am.....I'd practically have little or no need for an alarm clock....sleep in and do whatever the fvck I wanted to the next day....spend some time being bored but it sure beats the hell outta the everyday grind of work and deadlines and the boss wanting this done or difficult customers and generally dealing with the public. No way in hell I could ever be a mechanic, if this is what this guys profession is. I've know the way cars are built nowadays...if you can lift the hood and see any part of the pavement under the engine compartment then obviously something is missing or has been taken out. I'm surprized you can still get to the oil drain plug anymore....

Probably have to dump the phone or at least change your number and go unlisted, cuz everybody and God would be calling you for some donation or another.....

Some of you might say "what if he likes being a mechanic".....that's great but the way I figure, why waste 40 or 50 hours a week picking up a paycheck when you are getting 3000 a week allowance for doing nothing? Christ, get a hobby or something....as long as you're not snorting a traincar of coke every week and you don't own like 6 mansions and 14 cars.....how are you gonna spend all that money if you set a budget and stick to it?

Don't sleep to much. Studies show best health performance is when getting only 6.5 - 7 hours of sleep per day.

The closest I ever came to winning the lottery was 4 numbers on the top line and the other 2 numbers on the bottom line which only paid $40. My neighbor that used to live next door worked for one of the law firms that sued RJ Reynolds tobacco company for millions of dollars and needless to say he moved out of town in heartbeat....and didn't even throw a block or going away party. I'm sure he knew though that everyone and their brother probably would have wanted to hit him up for a loan.
