Guys , just found out I wont have much time tomorrow so if you got MMA knowledge and want to make a coin or two please help me out .

I will be looking for you predictions with write ups and not just who you pick to win .
I dont like to bet on underdogs so you will have to give me favs in either UFN , Affliction or DREAM . I was thinking about making wagers on Aoki , Arlovski , Barnett , Belfort so if you got any other decent picks feel free to post here .
I can only pay up at a pokersite either fulltiltpoker or pokerstars as I dont have credit cards , from 10 $ up to 50 $ if the write up is good enough , like how you think the fight will play out etc . I've read some previews in the last two days so no need to come up with copied things :finger:

PS : dont plan to bet on Silva vs Irvin and Fedor vs Tim .

What do you mean by make a coin or two?

fAnyways for a good save bet, bet on Vitor belfort over Terry Martin

At -295 at bookmaker it is a steal

Belfort has refocused on MMA and his striking vastly improved since going over to Chute Boxe

If this goes to the ground no question Vitor

here is what i wrote on the fight

This is the most interesting fight of the night. Vitor Belfort (16-8) was once the brightest star in mixed martial arts. He had incredible hands and was a Carlson Gracie black belt. In the UFC’s infancy his grappling game was the best in the world. Vitor has had a rough spell but he has rededicated his life to train hard and if he is mentally right Belfort is still among the top fighters in the world.

Terry Martin is a hard hitting fighter with incredible strength but that’s about it. If this fight even touches the ground Belfort will submit him. But Martin will not attempt to go on the ground and will instead try to stand and trade shots with Belfort.

What many don’t remember is that Belfort is a very accomplished boxer who has KO’ed big striker like Scott Ferrozzo, Tank Abbott and Wanderlei Silva. Belfort also had a brutal KO over Marvin Eastman at UFC 43 and Terry Martin lost to Eastman in a decision at UFC 81: Breaking Point.

i think there is still value on cain velasquez at -260, thought linr should have been atleast -300. valesquez was an all american wrestler at asu, obrien merely on varsity a couple years. obrien has relied on his wrestling in the cage and he will not out wrestler valesquez.

apparently valesquez is a freak athlete, won national bjj tourney after training for less than 2 years. got his ufc K just from doing an open workout in front of dana white.

i said this b4 his first ufc fight, but i beleive the ufc being so high on cain and shane carwin (but esp. cain) is part of the reasin they let so many of their heavyweights go.

obrien was the perfect match-up to build valesquez up. i guy w/ 10-1 (3-1) inside cage, but whose strenght is nutrialized by valesquez. i put 4 units on this fight, which is my largest play since shamrock v cung le, which was my first play in my thread and actually a 6u loss. but im usually onpoint w/ my large plays.

i got -170, i wouldnt recomend 4u at -260, but maybe 2u.

i think obrien will try to close distance, pin him on cage, take down control for boring dec. but will be caught mid first and gnp. tko'd

Eh, I liked Velasquez under -200, but now at -300 it's a bit much. This fight is indeed tailor made for him as Velasquez is not only a bigger but more decorated wrestler than O'Brien, and O'Brien's only skill is wrestling.

Still, Velasquez has only a couple of fights under his belt, and both have been sloppy looking affairs against lackluster competition. You can watch him yourself on Youtube in his Bodog fight (just search it). Velasquez definitely has power behind his punches and he seems to have hurt both of his last two opponents early. However, his prolonged finishing of both leave much to be desired.

He's a big question mark still for me. He might go the way of Houston Alexander or Tim Boestch and not meet expectations. Not saying it happens in this fight, but I'm not risking it.

The Arlovski line has moved down all the way down to -210 which is a price that's good enough to lay money on.

Arlovski's takedown defense looked great against Jake O'Brien who seems to only excel at taking and holding a guy down (see Heath Herring fight). Probably a non-issue since Rothwell likes to keep it standing anyway.

Considering we're going to see a stand up war, I'd give an advantage to Arlovski. Rothwell is a good fighter and has good striking, but he's a plodding type of fighter that's not very mobile. There were points in his fight with Soszynski where Soszynski was able to get inside and crack him with a few shots. Arlovski also has the better boxing skills and has much faster hand speed. Arlovski should be able to get inside and land some good shots. Rothwell will have a reach advantage, but he keeps his hands low and telegraphs his punches.

Arlovski has recently faced the tougher competition beating Werdum recently, although this will be a much different style of fight. Only problem here is that Rothwell has a good amount of power and Arlovski has shown a lack of durability when getting caught with a well placed shot. I've heard that he's more motivated in and better shape now. If he comes out aggressive and can avoid Rothwell's big shots, he should get the better of the exchanges and take the fight.

torbo,

agree with everything you say. velasquez looked sloppy early, but everyone seems to believe his learning curve is real sharp. i believe in that bodog fight, he had only been training mma for less than one year.

anyway, i dont see any much anymore at the -300 to -325 range it is now sitting at.

as for arlovski, i have been close to pulling the trigger since line up, saw the -210 yest, was hoping that it would drop again. now not sure if i should wait until pre fight. i figured the line would come out at -275. lines been all over the place.
