It's obviously too small a sample to make generalizations, but here are the results of my first 100 hands of play playing perfect strategy.
41 - 55 - 4
On double downs I was 6-3.
I had 6 BJ's to the computer's 11. As an aside, of the 11 blackjacks for the computer, 5 of them occurred when I had been dealt a 20 (twist of the knife).
I tracked all of the actual cards for the first 50 hands. During that time, I was dealt a natural 20 five times. I won only two of those.
During the first 50 hands, the dealer had to draw 19 times. Of those, it busted 9 times, but drew a 21 to beat me 4 times.
Of the 100 total hands, I had the following winning streaks:
THREE (4 times)
FOUR (1)
The computer, however, had the following streaks:
THREE (3)
FOUR (2)
FIVE (1)
SIX (1)
Overall, I guess it seemed reasonable until the streaks hit me (and the lopsided blackjacks).
What does all this mean to you? Absolutely nothing. What does it mean to me? I'm going to stay out of the casino from now on. I just can't get past trusting it. My results weren't overwhelming one way or the other, but hell, the game is against you as it is. Add in the ability for a company thousands of miles away to control the payback... well, I've had fun, but I've also had enough.
Good luck.
