anyone who truly believes the NFL is fixed need to stop betting and get a reality check. Noone is going to argue, or can argue that refs here and there might be betting on games or making bad calls because they were bought off or something. However, to say the league is all out rigged is absurd, preposterous, it's just downright idiotic. Some of these people on this site that whine about the league being rigged have had some bad beats, lost money, probably more than they can afford and need something to help them sleep at night and convince themselves that they didn't make the wrong pick, they just got screwed because it was a fix. Give me a friggin break

You didn't really need to start another thread about this topic...The whole point behind my original thread regarding this issue was to simply highlight the relationship between a funny line and who the books need on that particular Sunday...

Obviously I believe it is because certain games are rigged...I have said time and time again that not all games are rigged and you can tell by watching them...

There are people who indeed do complain about games that are rigged after the fact, which is why I started a thread pointing out which games I believe that may not be on the up and up, stating my reasons why and picking games BEFORE and not AFTER....to avoid being accused of "loosing money"......

Not too many people have done that...

If you do not think the NFL has an agenda, you should stop betting. I have been doing this for 12+ years and know full well there are certain teams, players, situations etc. that are given partial calls...

The only thing I will point to is the Atlanta Falcons when Michael Vick sold out the Falcons for the first time in its history, was number one in ticket sales, jersey sales, bobble head sales, foamy finger sales, sold out every road game, was the rage of every kid in the country who watched football..

Get some game tapes and you tell me whether or not the Falcons O line was allowed to tackle guys when Vick started his shucking and jiving.

There are situations that change week to week, month to month or year by year..is it just coincidence that Vegas is hardly EVER on the losing end of a bad call? Some great plays, sure..bad calls? Hardly ever.

it's not fixed but it for entertainment

the spread makes gambling exciting to bet, the players make the game fun to watch.

the winner is the one who enjoys the entertainment. the loser is blindly believe on something that you don't know.

we all try to help each other to win somw $$$$ at this forum and have fun watching the game, not get into each others nerd.

peace!!!

vegas just knows that they are doing. they make the spread so they are pretty much right in the middle and win money no matter which team wins. you guys dont seem to comprehend that. vegas does not NEED any given team to win on any given day, they make money regardless,

Uhhhhhhh, my comment wasn't directed at you, lol, I was siding with you. You just failed to put the pieces together -- look at the location of poster #2, the main culprit behind the idiotic bullshit posts you started this thread to counter. Besides, I'm half Canadian and wish I were an American ex-pat about every other day.

wrong. read a gambling book, and you will see interviews from different sportsbook managers that say they "need" this game. one example is the titans agianst the rams in super bowl a few years back

you are the one that's wrong. yeah, so even if they dont rake it in from one particular game they will win big bucks from other games. bottom line is, they win in the long run, the odds are in their favor, that's why they make money. they dont need to rely on a certain team to 'come through' for them. wake up people. they aren't hurting. unless you are talking about second rate operations that dont know how to run a business.

Of course they "need" a certain side, they cant get exactly 50% on each side every game. Doesnt mean they have the games fixed.

i never said anything about games being fixed. i simply said that they do in fact need some games more than others, something that the previous poster said that they dont need certain games, when in reality they do.

My God, this debate will just go on forever and ever.

Here's the ONE thing I can say with true certainty, regardless of who's 'side' I am on. You will never convince someone who is on the opposite side/opinion of you, so why bother?
