I have had a personal trainor for the past 9 months who has been rigorously making me lift weights and he is killing me...

What should I do now that after today, my bicpeps are aching so badly?

Any advice?

i am going through the same thing right now, except it's my right shoulder. I asked the trainer at the gym what to do, and he told me that I have to give that muscle a rest and that time is the only thing that can cure it. IOW, don't use your bicep muscle for a little while and give it a break..You've been straining yourself too much and you need a break. Work on other parts of your body for now is what my guy told me..

you can either have aching muscles or have to use Viagra. Nothing worse than going to the dish without your club!

Ken,

No worries!

I have a call in to DENNY CRANE.

As soon as I hear back I will let you know what he said!

Tiger Balm, helps to use it before, works well after also. Every other day on groups will provide sufficient rest. Little bit goes a long way. I swear by it...Best wishes...OF

i use tiger balm too, but it doesn't cure it, it only relieves the pain temporarily and you have to keep applying it. I have went through 9 jars of tiger baum in the last 4 months. Time is the only cure for it and rest the muscle till it heals..

But the muscles need to be worked or get sore or they will atrophy. Plus he has a trainer. So the trainer is making him exercise the biceps until they are sore. Unless you totally overwork them, a little temporary relief, you are right temporary, and a day of rest should be adequate. Boy Sicky, did I get the tar baby having fun with your post. At least you know wil is there for you. You are my favorite poster. I figured behind the self depreciation you were a sharp cookie. I learned another lesson, the hard way...OF

you probably jumped into it to quick. Your trainer overworked you.

I recommend you follow my training regimen instead...

each day due 8 16-ounce curls.

Read Body for Life by Bill Phillups.

The typical personal trainer forces you to go 100% before your muscles are properly warmed up,ripping them to shreds, getting lesser results.

Do an easy set of curls
Do a not so easy set.
Do a hard set.
Do a "OW!" set.

Repeat if time allows with another exercise.

Don't touch arms again for 4 days.

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

from now on - drink the beer before you use it to lift - and you will find it much easier to curl the empty beer can instead of a full one.

Don't believe that story. It made sense to me as well when I has given that story ten years ago...have had to ice it 4 of the last five nights....

are you taking any supplements at all? I have a nice list I could send you that would help your recovery time.

Would Testosterone be considered a supplement?
