I like Washburn in this spot vs Bannister this afternoon.Washburn bounced back strong in his last start vs Oak after getting lit up vs LAA in his previous start which was his only bad start of this season.Bannister was shaky at best @ Minn his last time out & the start before that he walked 6 in 7IP even though he gave up only 1 hit vs Tor.I think his ERA is a little misleading & Sea will make him pay today if his control is off.KC is hot while Sea is slumping a bit of late but I still like Washburn ot step up & for the M's bats to wake up vs Bannister.

I have to express some concern about this pick. Those M's scored only one run against washed up Mr. Ponson last night. The night before they made Vicente Padilla look like an All Star when they only got one hit off him at Safeco. They've lost 7 out of their last 10 and don't look like a team that I would want to put my money on at this time.

Meanwhile the Royals are full of confidence. They lead their division with one of the best records in baseball. They've won 5 straight and 8 out of 10. They've averaged almost 7 runs per game during that stretch.

Brian Bannister brings in an ERA of 1.96 and while I myself consider this a bit misleading you can't argue the fact that the guy looked absolutely sharp in his first 2 starts and suffered a bit of a letdown by his defense in the Minnesota game.

I'll probably stay away from this game myself but if anything I would bet the Royals tonight.

I understand your "concerns" but I have to go with my hunch. Even though KC looks like the only play at first glance I still have my reasons for a play on the M's.I did state that the Royals are hot & that Sea is slumping but keep in mind that Bannister is 0-3 lifetime vs Sea as well.......GL on your plays tonight.

KC is 4-1 in last 5 against LHP and has beat them up pretty good. 8 11 7 7 and 2 runs scored. 8 11 and 7 were at home

bannister also has pitched well at home

Early on the M's can get that clutch hit with runners in scoring position......

Now a bobbled routine ground ball scores a run.....damn it!!

2-0 KC. Seattle is cold as ice bat wise. Pitching good from both guys though
