2* texas rangers to win the alds -165
betting on the reigning al champions to advance here. texas has the most potent offense in the league, this team is absolutely loaded. i wouldn't be surprised to see the rangers' offense carry them back to the postseason as there isn't a pitching rotation in the american league deep enough and strong enough to hold them down.
2* milwaukee brewers to win the nlds -160
i believe this is the year the brewers will win their first playoff series since 1982. the core of their 2008 playoff team is still intact with gallardo, braun, and fielder. milwaukee's future playoff hopes will have to drop a bit once prince fielder leaves for free agency... they have to capitalize now while he's still a brewer. the quality of the brewers' starting rotation is 3 deep, while the dbacks' is 2. saunders is a huge drop off after kennedy and hudson, whose numbers were also inflated this year by pitching against bad offenses in pitcher's parks courtesy of the nl west. former al cy young winner zack greinke has been under the radar all season. oddsmakers have put a heavy price tag on him in every game this season... they know he's the real deal. with his league-leading 10.54 Ks/9 innings, i expect him to have a dominate and breakout postseason.
