Wyoming +11.5
Let's head up I-25 to the town of Laramie, Wyoming for this Mountain West Conference showdown between the Air Force Falcons and Wyoming Cowboys. Air Force comes into this contest flying high with an unblemished 4-0 record after defeating fellow Military Academy rival Navy 28-14 last week down in Colorado Springs. The victory over Navy puts Air Force one step closer to the coveted Commander in Chief Trophy, however this might be a bit of a flat spot as the Zoomies are only 2-10 ATS in games after facing Army or Navy since 2010. On the other side of the ledger we find Wyoming also coming in off a big victory after defeating fellow Mountain West conference rival Colorado State 38-17 last week in Fort Collins. One might think that this is just another game for Wyoming and that they might be content with just beating CSU, however these two programs are also rivals, separated by a mere 200 miles as the crow flies. This rivalry has heated up in recent years going back to a post game confrontation when then Wyoming coach Dave Christensen blasted Air Force coach Troy Calhoun with a profanity-laced tirade after Christensen felt the Falcons faked an injury in 2012. The Christensen/Calhoun incident turned it into a full-on flame that neither side has seen any reason to extinguish. "Within the players at Wyoming I'd say Air Force is the rivalry," Cowboys safety Andrew Wingard said. "We really don't like Air Force that much. Added running back Brian Hill, "Since I've been here that's kind of been the biggest rivalry. Bigger than CSU. Maybe not for the fans, but for the players. The players on our team do not like Air Force, and I understand why. Every time we play them it's a dogfight." Air Force holds a slim 28-23-3 advantage in a series that has seen eight of the past 11 games decided by 10 or fewer points and I'm calling for another Mountain West dogfight once again on Saturday as Wyoming keeps this one within the number.
