Ummm dude, in 1974 Jurgensen wasn't even the leading passer on his TEAM, that would be Billy Kilmer. Jurgensen's stats for 1974 were 107-167 for 1185 yards with 11 TD's and 5 INT's. Is this the 1930's where 1185 yards can when you a passing title? It is obvious that in some futile attempt to prove me wrong you wikipediaed this because on the wikipedia entry for Sonny Jurgensen I found this:

Jurgensen riddled enemy defenses with picture-perfect passes for the next 11 seasons in Washington. In 1969, Vince Lombardi took over the Redskins’ coaching. Lombardi quickly developed a strong admiration for the quarterback. "Jurgensen is a great quarterback," the coach said without hesitation. "He may be the best the league has ever seen. He is the best I have seen."

At the age of 40 in his final season in 1974, Jurgensen won his third NFL passing crown

Thanks for playing though kid, but next time something NFL is posted on the forum let those who know what they are talking about discuss it and not some idiot who just clicked on the first link he saw after googling "Sonny Jurgensen"

whoooa little lady....all i did was recite something that i had heard many times and then I PROVIDED YOU with the link, sport. dont act as if you found something out.
:missingte
i dont lie and i dont hide things, so he had the best Qb rating in the year of '74.

i gave a link, to that exact quote already....i know more about the NFL than you and i have family working in the league. coaching and scouting in the NFL, i have access to a good bit. you are a little guy when it comes to discussing this sport, dont kid yourself. I have yet to "google" anything, but ive used yahoo a time or two. i hope thats ok. but i was merely referencing a great and underrated player and a stat that i had heard many times. dont get too big for your britches, little lady....its a long season.

again, Sonny Jurgensen is better than the names you listed and he is not a name someone knows that doesnt know the game of football. im quite certain that you couldnt spell the name without my aid

:)

learn your place and accept it.

Earl Campbell, yes he gets on the RB list but should be top 3. Speed, power, just dominated. I swear teams would put 10 guys in the box, I wondered how he ever made yardage. Too bad his career was cut short, but his first four years you can put against anyone and the year he had over 1900 he missed at least six quarters otherwise he would have broken the slashers record at the time.

WRONG AGAIN MOFOME, Jurgensen still DID NOT lead the NFL in passer rating in 1974, Kenny Stabler did. Sonny Jurgensen had a 94.5 QB rating, whereas Kenny Stabler had a 94.9 QB rating.

Secondly, passing title refers to who leads the league in passing YARDAGE that season. The person who leads the league in QB rating is said to lead the league in passing EFFICIENCY.

Once again little man, thanks for playing but when it comes to NFL trivia respect your betters. If you care to make yourself sound foolish again be my guest, but know that I know more about the NFL at the tender age of 21 than you ever will.

hines, if you are going to go off the deep end on one post, thats an indictment on your own insecurities in this world.
it says "At the age of 40 in his final season in 1974, Jurgensen won his third NFL passing crown"

dont act as if you had anything comitted to memory, little lady. i know much more than you about any sport that matters:
NFL
NCAAF
MLB
NCAAB

thats just life. really, you are just a little kid. you looked up some neeat stats, i could acre less if i was wrong about a stat, i didnt look it up, i only posted anything about him b/c he is a redksin....thats all. dont read too much into things, you need to learn how to read the lines before you are able to read b/w them, ma'm. i paid about 3 seconds of attention to this post, is not my life as it seems it is yours. i listed a better qb than anyone you listed, thats the point
:)

once football rolls around we will see who caps what and who knows what....i know where all of these players came from and what they have done on each level, not a big deal. i have family in the nfl, you are just a little dorkchop fan....

im about as worried about you knowing more than i do as i am of having my 3 dogs turn into a talking waffle. you arnet anyone, dont fool yourself into thinking you are.

you keep reading facts on past players and i will keep winning money for myself and others, actually capping sports. thats what this forum is for, little guy

Man, you should pursue a career in politics because you sure do know how to spin anything you can. If I was wrong, you would keep on talking shit about how dumb I am. However, I am proven right so you say that I am "going off the deep end" when you actually called me into question first. Man you sure are a winner, I look forward to fading your plays because I'm sure your inside NFL contacts are nothing but popcorn men and beer bitches.

Gotta love an unproven guy who doesn't know anything that he is talking about, they make excellent fades. Especially one with an ego such as yours because you won't stop. But anyways I'm through embarassing you in this thread. Just make sure to bring some actual knowledge to the table next time.

mofome puts a twist on everything. he was proven wrong and instead
of acknowledging it- he gets the spotlight off of him and puts it
on someone else. I thought the guy was cool, but now I have
come to realize his critics are totally right about him,he is just
annoying. I don't think anyone really takes him seriously anyway.

After reading this thread :puppy: How could they??

He will be bashing someone else next week.
I know I have some problems but this guy is way more
fvcked up than me. :realtongu ya know?

Never well known - poor stats - but was Walter Payton's lead blocker for years.
