If I had to pick an overrated location, I would go with Jamaica.

Too much poverty, too many beggars, too much crime, not enough freedom of movement

Underrated, probably PR. Beautiful Caribbean island with beaches and food and great people that we just take for granted

100 % AGREE been going for 8 years now since i told Vegas to take a hike. Casinos treat you like Royalty.
Going Back this year for 3 months about to Book in next few days .. On the Beach in Paradise ... Come on Down !!!!

All inclusive = mediocre food and watered down drinks

I disagree, I don't do all inclusive often, but some places you need to like Jamaica and the Riviera Maya and other places you don't want to be locked in like Aruba and Cabo, but when we do an all inclusive I make sure there's a good choice of several restaurants and the food is good and they serve quality drinks

Over rated = Disney and Cruises

Those are the 2 family vacations I do the most. My absolute favorites. Also very easy when u live in South Florida.

Many cruises have “kids sail free” promotions and Disney has “annual passes” so it’s great “bang for the buck” when u have young kids.

i can’t wait to go to universal when kids are a little older. Was at citiplace (chocolate factory) a few months ago and my kids couldn’t wait for universal

Exactly. We live about 80 minutes from the orlando parks and about 50 minutes from port canaveral. Makes doing those things really easy. Also, its not some huge attraction but if you're into space and shit Kennedy Space Center is a pretty cool place imo.

Yeah that's a good call, Jamaica is kind of a shithole.

One of the best values that are in Mexico is Puerto Vallarta. Some of the best restaurants. People are friendly and over accommodating. They make you feel welcome. Almost everyone speaks English. Casino for your enjoyment. Activities and plenty of night life and entertainment. With the peso at 19 to 1 your money goes a long way. I have been going there 30 years great place. If you ever go DO NOT STAY at the all inclusive resorts. Rent a condo and get out and enjoy what it has to offer and not be trapped on a compound eating their cheap food and watered down drinks. Will be there for 2 months.

How much does it cost you (estimate per person) to stay down there for 2 months? do you do anything extravagant or just eat & drink at your leisure?

One bed condo at the Grand Venetian cost me $5000 for 2 months. My air is anywhere between a $1000 and $1300 that's for two. We eat out every night. I try to budget a $100 a day but with my wife her shopping will push me over budget. Since I have been going there for 30 years I done all the tourist things unless something new pops up.

Fly back home tomorrow off an 8 day Disney world trip. Don't see how anyone can really call it overrated. Magic kingdom is overcrowded but amazing memories with my family. Watching my son be amazed by it all makes it worth it.
