Super Bowl 36 vs. the Rams.

Watch it DD. According to Cincy there is no such thing as SB 36. The only way to say it is SB XXXVI. He advised me there is no such thing as SB 42. Damn, he's dumb.

Fat Tony...

I also attended the Leon Lett game vs. Miami... being from San Diego... that was the coldest I have ever been... not my favorite, but certainly an interesting game memory.

Others...

Fav prolly... games 3,4,5 of the 1984 NLCS (Padres win three-straight against Cubs), which was better than attending all five games of the '84 WS (Detroit 4-1).

I have been to the Bowl... TB crushes Oak

Orel Hershiser sets the consecutive scoreless innnings mark vs. SD

Lou Brock sets the (then) all-time stolen base mark vs. SD

1978 MLB All-Star Game

The first Breeders' Cup

1987 Rose Bowl OSU vs. ASU... Plummer vs. Joe Germaine (the PI calls)

Also loved... Brett Favre throws five TDs on MNF at Oakland day after his father dies.

An interesting one for me was seeing Montreal Canadiens defeat rival Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-0, in the old Forum... so many fights, huge brawl, but just regular season.

Natrually again at the old Boston Garden I watched one of the most clutch game winning skyhooks Kareem ever launched. After tying a great playoff game in regulation and at the end of the first overtime, John Havlicek hit a rainbow over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to give Boston a 101-100 lead with seven seconds left in the second OT. Then Oscar Robertson (at the end of his great career) inbounded the ball to Kareem. Kareem dribbled down the right side and hit a great skyhook from deep in the corner to give Milwaukee a 102-101 double OT win and send the series to a seventh game in Milwaukee, which typical of the Celtics was won by them easily by double figures.

Celtic center Dave Cowens did his best to defend on the shot but had no chance to get to it. The wild Garden crowd groaned in unison when the ball swished thru the net and the buzzer blew.

And I went to the Game 7 game that Sunday afternoon at the old Milwaukee Arena...unfortunately from my standpoint, the Celtics won pulling away.

I was in the dawg pound for the '89 Browns/Bills playoff game. The one that Bebe (or however you spell his name) landed on the ground head first and bounced. Clay Matthews intercepted a pass deep in Cleveland territory to give the Browns the win.

Next would have to be game 3 and 4 of the Cavs/Pistons series last year.

Nate Johnson for Nebraska hitting a running floater with five seconds left in the NIT vs. Creighton.

Fuck I hate Creighton.... and I rarely shed tears, but that was the happiest/drunkest moment of my sports life

1998 Notre Dame at Boston College

College Football has an awesome atmosphere to begin with, but the stadium was electric..

Off of my Cloud (1998-11-07)

Although the Eagles stood at a paltry 3-5 coming in, BC fans dared hope their team could still knock off then-No. 13 ranked Irish. Down 31-20 with 9:23 left in the game, Eagles senior quarterback Scott Mutryn threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Anthony DiCosmo. After a failed two-point conversion, the BC defense prevented a Notre Dame score. The Eagle offense then marched all the way to the Irish 4-yard line with only seconds remaining on the clock. Running back Mike Cloud was stuffed at the line of scrimmage on the first three downs (though replays indicated he crossed the plain into the end zone), and finally ND safety Deke Cooper tackled Cloud in the back field on fourth down with six seconds left for a 31-26 final.

Almost forgot Favre's amazing performance on MNF after his dad died. I was in Oakland for that game, and was reminded last night watching the Favre retirement stuff. Kind of a fluke that I went there, just had a friend that was a Raiders fan and went out to see a game with him.
