I have a list of things I concentrate on when picking my bracket and want to know if anyone else has a good system and what you think is the most important. Here are mine in order:

Guard play
Defense
Coaching
Rebounding
SOS
Last 10 games
3 point shooting
Free throw shooting
Senior Leadership
Big Dance experience
Star Power (a go to guy that scores close to 18 points or more)

IMO you need these things with the most important things first.

Great PG
Two big men inside
Consistent defense
Good coach
Experience in the tournament
Rebounding
FT shooting

I think versatility is the most important thing, and sometimes the hardest to figure out. Look at the big 10, those teams will not be able to play the style of their conference in the tourney, but that doesnt mean they cant win. You really have to judge how teams will adjust to different styles.

The Big 10 looked pretty good outside of their conference this year but that was at the begining of the year and now it's anyone's guess. Looking at the Big 10 this year I can 100% say they play great defense so they have a chance to have a good showing in my opinion.

Illinois
Minny
MSU
Wisconsin
Purdue
Ohio State

all get after it on D.

I think it is more shitty offense than great defense.

Scoring differential. Anything above 10 is very good. 14 or above exceptional. These teams should go deep.

That's what was my driving criteria this year.

The score differential is the bottom, and encapsulates all of the other criteria, actually.

Who's some of your examples? Gonzaga? UNC? Oklahoma?

Also, I would look at perspective NBA draft players. You can google upcoming NBA draft list for 2009. Interesting that Wake Forrest has quite a few players in that list. Just something to consider.
