How can this be? Are the Americans that blinded to reality?

According to the Washington Post in August of 2003, 70% of Americans believed that Saddam Hussein was involved with 9/11.

Besides, if the question of WMD is only worded with 'had' as opposed to 'had over a decade ago' it would be difficult to say 'no.' Ask me if I had tonsilitis I will tell you yes ... ask me if I had tonsilitis in the past couple of years and the answer is completely different.

Hmmmm...are thousands of Kurds killed by poison gas a clue that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction?

Exactly. Except that happened in 1988 (when the US wasn't looking, of course) and not exactly applicable to the present war and its "justifications."

Oh, you're right xpanda. Saddam just kicked out all the inspectors, because he didn't feel that their help was necessary in getting rid of all of the weapons. It was a courtesy extended by him.

The U.S. has moved in and secured the oil and that is it. They have now dissappeared 8.8 billion in Iraqi oil revenue as well.

The inspectors withdrew voluntarily, they were not kicked out.

You mean the reality that the CIA,UN intelligence and British intel. was saying for last 10 years. That reality?

a. Saddam had little control over Iraq (especially the North) and the public acknowledgement that his arsenal was miniscule at best could have spelled the end of him. Saddam was, after all, about as power-hungry as they get.

b. If Saddam had WMD why, oh why, did he not use them on American troops?? What in god's name would he have been saving them for?

American,

Well, I have not watched the Olympics at all. It has lost all appeal since admitting professionals to the game. If I were to, I would be most likely to receive coverage of the Canadian team, being, well, Canadian and all. However, if you are asking me would I enjoy watching women who you lovingly call 'dykes' smacking each other, I can say that it holds the same appeal as watching boys playing baseball or any other sport re-adjusting their nuts.

Your innuendo, however, is not lost on me. Your attempt to dismiss my arguments with childish 'lesbian!' finger-pointing is pathetic and, frankly, I would imagine you to be more intelligent than that. I've been wrong about these things before, however.

Do you have any comment regaring WMDs or was that it?

I don't directly know, but perhaps out of anticipatory defense? It is, we can all agree, a FACT that Saddam did not use WMD on approaching American troops.

I guess Saddam pulled a John Kerry. He voted not to use them, after he voted to use them.

Open minded my ass. Open minding people would be willing to concede that they, nor anyone else knows everything. You "open minded" people incorrectly assume that just because we haven't found them, that they were never there.

No, that was it. I don't want to talk about WMDs anymore. Or any of the other bullshit everyone has been arguing about for the last few years on this forum, for that matter. I guess I just ran out of energy for it.

I have energy for women beach volleyballers smacking each other on the ass, though.

I don't know if I would agree that I'm 'open-minded' on matters of aggression and warmongering, since I'm clearly anti-allofit. But one thing I can say that I am is intelligent enough to understand that you cannot prove a negative and that the onus is on those who say WMDs existed to prove their case, not on those who didn't instigate bomb-dropping. In any case, nobody in the 'anti-' camp has made the argument (in this thread at least) that the reason we believe no WMDs existed is because you have not yet found them. Other arguments, which neither you nor your fellow 'pro-' campers have managed to rebutt, were made instead.
