Of course, unemployment is a safety net, not that government check career so many of the leftie base chooses to live.

I, as a small business owner, pay both into a SUI and FUTA fund based on my rating (ie: how many past employees have collected unemployment benefits vs what I paid into it). If I have to let go an employee because of the economy they will collect funds and my SUI and FUTA rate will be raised for the following year and probably the next few years after that.
Also, should I have to close my business I am UNABLE to get any assistance from the Govt because owners of businesses are not able to collect unemployment. That is absolutely fine with me as the less govt influences my life, the better.
So maybe one day you'll go out there and start a business, highly doubtful because you are the sheeple incarnate, but if you do you will then understand that unemployment funds are NOT given to people by the govt, but by all the businesses in that state that pay into this.
So the long answer is, yes, I am absolutely fine with a Republican accepting unemployment funds as this is money that people like me have given them in case a layoff is necessary

Nice to hear you're all for helping out your neighbor in her time of need. Me too. That's why I support medicare, medicaid, social security, and federal assistance in all of its many forms, including food stamps and "Section 8" housing. It's money that people like me have given them in case of unemployment and underemployment.

i most certainly am not in favor of a gov't telling me I HAVE TO send them money on top of the wages I pay my employees so that they can hold it and dole it out to others...just pointing out that this is not the government's money, so it's not like Conservatives should feel they're getting a hand-out from Uncky Sam. They're getting a hand-out from other employers in their state and, thereby, increasing that company's SUI and FUTA percentage to put them in a further hole.
