I don't like the fact that you're forced to buy it. This is the U.S., if a person doesn't want insurance why should they be forced to buy it?

I have great insurance through my employer, thankfully I'm not required to by Obamacare. I pay around $320 a month for a family of 5. I know that I get a great deal for the price I pay, as there are many people who don't get half of what I get and pay much more.

I agree it should not be required. Then as a hospital, we will see what kind of means you have to pay. You refuse to get the insurance and show up at my door with cancer? Guess what you better have money or finance how to pay me or you are dead. That's a big problem, people who don't have insurance not paying their bills, it's a big reason why costs are high

You know, sometimes you wander across a post so idiotic that it stops you dead in your tracks.

Please tell me where exactly you're getting your information that shows this whole fucking fiasco is helping just as many people as it has hurt (sometimes fatally).

Then tell me if you understand why insurance companies are in business. Suggesting they should not be able to deny anyone is like saying I should be able to call a homeowners insurance company as a new customer and decide to sign up for a new policy while my house is on fire.

First I want you to tell me how many people it is hurting and how it is doing it fatally? Whoever it has enrolled it is helping, what are the enrollment numbers? I just said it helped me financially, my CT scan was half the price. How many people were refused health coverage before because of existing conditions? All those people are insured now. How about the person who didn't have insurance who would not go in to get checked? What do you think those new enrollees will do now? They will get the care that they need.

So do you have a hard time paying the $225 per month?

A lot.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/03/23/5-reasons-why-on-its-5th-anniversary-obamacare-still-sucks/

The Government Accountability Office reports that insurers have left the market in droves. In 2013, 1,232 carriers offered insurance coverage in the individual market. By 2015, that number had shrunk to 310. …
Patients may also have fewer doctors to pick from. More than 60% of doctors plan to retire earlier than anticipated — by 2016 or sooner, according to Deloitte. The Physicians Foundation reported in the fall that nearly half of the 20,000 doctors who responded to their survey — especially those with more experience — considered Obamacare’s reforms a failure.

Can you make the connection between patients losing access to specialist doctors and not being able to find another in their area?

and how it is doing it fatally?

Here's one:

http://nation.foxnews.com/2014/02/10/column-obamacare-killed-my-sister

This Wednesday, my little sister, Julie, will be buried. She died because she delayed seeking health care for what turned out to be a catastrophic condition after her private health insurance policy was cancelled because of Obamacare. As she waited for a new Obamacare-approved policy to kick in, her condition deteriorated to the point that it was too late.

Here's another:

http://www.thewire.com/politics/2014/04/the-death-of-an-uninsured-florida-woman-is-the-lefts-obamacare-horror-story/360434/

An uninsured Florida woman who died last month from a treatable heart condition sparked a new kind of Obamacare horror story...

Oh well...your costs went down, so fuck them, right? If you enjoy reading these kinds of stories, I can find plenty more. But what's the point? You'll naval gaze for a while and it won't sink in. That's your pattern.

How many people were refused health coverage before because of existing conditions? All those people are insured now.

So the government forces you to buy something, and enrollment is up? Fascinating. How many of those "new enrollees" had insurance before, and how many wish they had their old plans instead of the new shit they're being fed?

Has this awesome insurance given everyone access to doctors? Isn't that the whole point behind this idiotic monstrosity?

Your GF/Tenant receive Medicade. I'm hoping Supreme Court ends all subsidies in States as the "Law" on page 19,160 of ACA reads. :think2:

You need an income of $11-12,000 yr. too qualify for Obamacare...... You said "my girlfriends pays no income taxes" I assumed paying no income tax meant no-income? Need to know thing....... I understand for myself but don't follow when kids are involved. $225 is an okay rate as long as your deductible isn't a couple thousand, then out-of-pocket can bankrupt you.........

Still slum lording huh? You should be on your knees thanking the federal govt for providing programs that keep food on your table

This has nothing to do with "slum lording". ACA asks young, healthy people to subsidize the cost of healthcare. If I recall correctly, Seymour falls in that category. We can debate the merits of having young people subsidize healthcare costs but not the fact that it is exactly what ACA asks us to do.

First, there is no evidence anywhere at all, that the ACA has anything to do with your CT scan.

Second, the idea that because you have an insurance card you will get to see a doctor is laughable and preposterous.

For someone who claims to work in a hospital, you know very, very little about the topic.

You can bring up stories of how people are negatively affected but I can bring just as much evidence of those who it has helped.

You can find examples of people helped by the ACA. Well, great. But can you point me to any statement by any Democrat, ever, saying the ACA will force people to lose their doctor and insurance plan?

That is what makes this post so funny, that instead of evaluating the ACA against what the champions of the law said, the poster is evaluating it against what the opposition said. Want to guess why?

An unintended consequence?

But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/e...hours-due-to-obamacare-survey/article/2562012

Some U.S. workers are ringing in the fifth anniversary of Obamacare by working fewer hours, according to a new survey.

A new survey by the Society of Human Resource Management released Tuesday found about 14 percent of businesses have reduced part-time hours and another 6 percent plan to do so. Employers are reducing hours to avoid Obamacare's employer mandate, which requires companies to provide health insurance to all workers that work 30 or more hours a week.

In addition the survey found that 77 percent of companies faced higher healthcare plan costs this year compared to 2014 and 6 percent saw their costs decrease.

For that 77 percent, about 24 percent saw their costs go up 16 percent or more. Of the 6 percent that decreased costs, a majority decreased by up to 10 percent.

It’s going to be very exciting!

No and that's what I criticize them about. An endorsed plan with people praising it and giving false claims. I really don't think many know what in it. It was rushed and the people were poorly informed.
