The story here is pretty much the same as Vernon Adams last year.

prukop had a phenomenal season for fcs Montana state but the program is currently in the midst of a coaching turnover and prukop will possibly use the transfer rule for another year of eligibility. Tcu and Oregon seem to be giving the most interest, and considering the recent success of Vernon Adams and the lack of depth at Oregon's QB position the move pretty much instantly inserts prukop if he chooses to go to Oregon. However, he has closer ties to tcu with his father being an assistant to Patterson and being apart of his foundation. Also, it should be noted that prukop and his family are from Texas. Tcu is the more logical fit for prukop but not would be anther huge get for Oregon. Travis jonsen is just not ready yet which puts the ducks behind the 8 ball with really only mahalack being their other option. He is very good but hasn't seen any playing time what so ever. Should be interesting.

TCU has Kenny Hill transferring in from A&M as well as a pretty solid recruit coming in. I guess my question is why can't Oregon recruit a kid to Eugene and play them? That seems to be lacking since Chip left. Harrington, Dixon, Thomas, Marriota, they were much better when they developed the top notch kids.

I hear ya, somethings not right.... They are very high on the Travis jonsen kid and ultimately I would imagine they want him to be the future; but since his surgery this year and redshirt he just hasn't got the necessary practice time and reps to be fully prepared entering the season. If this kid doesn't transfer in I would say they will start jonsen and just get the learning curve starte early, but I'm a firm believer that Oregon is now more into the idea of bringing the QBs on slowly, not really seeing the field until their redshirt sophomore season... Not sure why exactly but it's how they're choosing to do things after the departure of mariota given their current lack of QB depth

Horrible move to bring in another transfer I think, take your lumps and move on. With all secrecy around Jonsen's injury and surgery I think it's far worse then they are leading people to believe.

I understand why you think it's a bad idea, but at the same time it's a great motivational factor for the other QBs in the system..... Allie isn't good, lockie is far from what everyone except me thought he was.... Mahalack is untested and like you said jonsen may have had a significant injury that may alter the way he plays the game, only time will tell.... As it stands, the ducks dont exactly have a stocked cabinet to choose from... If jonsen is healthy I imagine he and mahal battle it out for the starting role, but both guys will be on a short leash for whoever wins. They both possess the same attributes, dual threat guys..... Oregon now knows it's place in college football is amongst the elite and it is having a hiccup trying to get good QB depth... It has a couple guys but none are yet proven.... This kid is another time tested package with a proven track record of stats to back it up, and he played at a worse school than EWU where Vernon came from... I like the fact that he's got a chip on his shoulder and his a true dual threat, it's a better fit for Oregon's offense and offers more versatility within the offense creating more explosiveness....that's if he chooses to go to Oregon. The whole pac 12 will throw a hissy fit but that's just because they aren't getting these guys... Oregon will likely not beat Stanford or get another pac 12 title in the next couple years without this kid stepping in.... He like Vernon provides a bridge to the younger talent. It's such an iffy situation... I think jonsen is the guy they want for the long haul, but he's just not there
