Moneybookers

Never used this before but would appreciate some advice from people that have used it regularly. The CS at moneybookers stinks hence the thread.

Questions:

1 - Is it possible to have a portfolio of different currencies under the same account?

2 - If not - is it possible to have more than one account in the same name with different currencies?

3 - Is it possible to open an account and have a friend fund the account from his moneybooker account via a transfer. Obviously this may throw up laundering concerns so what sort of id would be required?

4 - Assuming question #3 is possible after security clearance would it be possible to use one moneybooker account to pay the bookies and to withdraw to and then transfer back to the moneybooker account that funded it in the first place?

This is nothing untoward but a close friend of mine wants to bet offshore but can't because he was recently declared bankrupt (not betting related). He can't withdraw back to a card or bank because he doesn't have one.

The different currencies question is there because I set a moneybooker account in pounds many years ago and he wants to bet in $.

You can have an account in only ONE currency . Let's say can dollar and lets say your betfair account in Brit pounds or US dollar ,when you make a deposit via MB it will convert Can dollars to whatever currency.

I think, the answer for question #1 is partially yes: Normally you were only allowed to have one single account under your name (which answers question #2), but I think after a survey back in 2008 they offered their VIP customers the possibility of opening a 2nd account in a different currency.
But since I haven't used that opportunity, I don't know what you exactly have to do to open that account in a different currency and I'm also not sure, if this applies only to their VIP customers or everybody, who contacts them.

At some point, both account holders will likely have to provide ID (copy of driver's license or passport, plus copy of utility bill or bank statement).

I have a VIP account, and was told no when I asked about either changing or having another currency -- but of course that may just have been poor support staff.

You are allowed to close your existing Moneybookers account (in British Pounds), and open up a new account in your name BUT with a different e-mail address. This new account can be in the currency of your choice. You will have to resubmit documents and go through the normal verification process again, but it can be done.
