Monday's Selection ...
For Monday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Seattle Seahawks as the road dog at the Chicago Bears. At 7:15 am eastern time, the Seahawks are the +4 1/2 point underdogs in Vegas and offshore. Note: I do advise buying the half-point up on Seattle if this line should drop to anywhere between +2 1/2 to +4 points.
This is not the same Seattle team that was a staple in playoff picture year-after-year in the NFC. No, this is most definitely a team that is on the decline, but even still, I think it is dangerous to give Russel Wilson over a field goal, especially when the other team is as unproven as the Chicago Bears are.
Chicago led last Sunday night at Green Bay by a 20-0 count, as they let Aaron Rodgers come back from injury and hang a 24-23 comeback win on them. Yes, first-year coach Matt Nagy did get the underdog cover, but tonight they will be in a role that has been a consistent money-burning role for them. As a favorite, Chicago is just 1-6 against the spread dating back to 2015.
Make no mistake, Mitchell Trubisky and Company are definitely a team that is on the upward arc, but right now they are not proven enough that I can lay over a field goal with them.
While Pete Carroll's team has a new-look, and that defense may no longer be the "Legion of Boom", they did welcome back Earl Thomas on defense, and they still have a quarterback in Russel Wilson that wears a Super Bowl ring!
The Seahawks may not win this game outright, but taking the points sure looks like the percentage play this Monday night.
Take Seattle for the underdog cover.
