Take the Angels tonight, at home in Anaheim, where they're an underdog against American League West-rival Houston.

And in this game I want you listing Andrew Heaney over Lance McCullers Jr., as this is the key to this underdog win.

Heaney, who allowed two runs over six innings in his last start against the Rockies last Tuesday, has registered a 2.12 ERA over his past three outings. Tonight marks his first start against the Astros in over a year. Back on Sept. 13, 2015 he took a no-decision. He is pitching well, and after yesterday's exciting win, Heaney will feed off that and be geared for the win.

Meanwhile, McCullers toes the slab to make his ninth start of the season. The right-hander has allowed 20 runs (19 earned) over 46 innings. And while the Astros are 5-3 in McCullers' starts, I don't know if he can contain the Angels' bats.

Play the Halos.

My Bonus Play for tonight is on the Minnesota Twins over the Seattle Mariners. Be sure to list the scheduled starters for tonight's game, taking Jake Odorizzi over Wade LeBlanc.

I like the way Odorizzi has looked of late, as he's been pitching much better over his last three starts, going 2-0 with a 2.76 ERA. He steps to the hill at Target Field after a solid win over the Cardinals, who he limited to one run on two hits over five innings last Tuesday.

He should get run support against LeBlanc, who has been limited since being moved into the rotation in place of the injured Erasmo Ramirez. The M's let him throw just 59 pitches in his last outing. This will be a tough chore for him, against a lineup that is hitting .246 at home.

All Twins in this one.

PUNTER nhl poffs 23-16

OUR NHL streak came to a disappointing end but we’re ready to get right back to it once more.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:

SOME tough pills to swallow to start the new week but we’ll flip it around once again as the MLB season moves on.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:

Oakland Athletics @ Boston Red Sox
Sean Manaea was quite literally perfect the last time he faced the Red Sox, but we’re betting that was just an anomaly and not a trend. Prior to pitching a no-hitter last month he had struggled drastically against this Boston line up and our projections have it going back that way again in this one. Despite that no-hitter he still sports a 7.52 ERA against the Red Sox and hasn’t dealt with Mookie Betts or Xander Bogaerts particularly well in the past. Meanwhile, Rick Porcello comes into this one with a 5-0 record and 2.79 ERA to match. Despite a shaky showing against the Yankees in his last start he should be able to keep the A’s hitters in check here and his offence will certainly provide him enough to work off. We feel that Boston are slightly overpriced given we had them closer to $1.50 and so we’re happy to double down on the better team and better pitcher at better than expected odds.

Tip: Boston Red Sox @ $1.64 (Unibet) (2 units)

Colorado Rockies @ San Diego Padres
The Rockies are being way overpriced here and we’re more than happy to side with Tyler Anderson against a team he’s enjoyed pitching to in the past. After going eight games unbeaten Anderson had a horror showing against the Angels in his last start but will bounce back against a team that doesn’t boast anywhere near the same level of offensive talent. The left-hander is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA in five career starts against the Padres and owns a 1.50 ERA against them in his two starts against them this season – both no decisions. San Diego are currently allowing 5.04 runs per game against them and while the Rockies hitters have struck out an average of 10 times a game in their last six starts, they’ll have a better time hitting against Joey Lucchesi this time around. The Rockies are 18-2 this season when leading after six innings and we feel that Anderson should do enough to hold the Padres in check to allow his offence to put them on top. This is too much value to pass up – grab the Rockies with some confidence here.

Tip: Colorado Rockies @ $1.98 (Unibet)
