I REALLY wanted to fade the Leafs tonight, since they played last night and had most of their top forwards in the lineup so a few bound to be sitting tonight, but I can't find their lineup released anywhere yet, and the Wings are dressing a ton of stiffs... so might have to take a pass. From what I can see the Wings are only playing 2 of their projected top 6 F (a few out with injuries to be fair), and 1 of their top 6 D (Quincey). Also dressing none of their top 2 goalies. Maybe the O5.5 is a better play? Anyone have thoughts?

It's game day!!
The Leafs travel to Detroit, Michigan, to take on the Red Wings.
Here is tonight's lineup:

van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Frattin
Lupul - Kadri - Leivo
Komarov - Santorelli - Kozun
Winnik - Holland - Nylander

I have not yet seen the D playing tonight, but I would assume that we will see both of Holzer and Percy.
Game time is 7:30 PM EST at Joe Louis Arena.
GO LEAFS GO!!

As much as I'm dying to fade the Leafs I have to think they have a stronger lineup than Detroit tonight. That doesn't mean they'll win, but definitely represents some value, especially at +124. Kessel is out, but so are pretty well all of Detroit's game-breakers.

Going to play Leafs and the over 5.5, both at +money, and hold my nose while I do it haha

I think ur crazy not to have a little something on the Leafs tonight.

those 2 lineups in a reg season game and Leafs win 7 of 10.

Marzak the only concern I have going into this one. That defense couldn't stop the Mighty Ducks

agree 100%, which is why I do. Leafs under Carlyle are such a question mark though, and never really as good as they should be on paper, so it's always a more nerve-wracking bet than it ought to be imo...

also keep in mind that I'm playing these games pretty small mostly for kicks and to get into the swing of things. I'm doing very little capping, but rather just looking at lineups and guessing at whose is stronger. Also just trying to provide some info for anyone interested.

Well, I was right to worry about the Leafs. How they can not score against basically an AHL/ECHL defence corps is beyond me. It sure doesn't bode well for the regular season. Dallas coming through in the end made it a small overall win on the day, but I'm frustrated that I didn't trust my instincts on the Leafs!

Games like that will humble you a little.

On a side note.

Don't anyone be surprised if Petr Mrazek doesn't one day this season become a bona fide NHL star. And he handles the puck as good as almost anyone i've seen. Like they used to say about Brodeur. Like a 7th defenceman.

Wings pipeline is loaded like I've never seen it before. No middle of the road older players working their way back up to the big club these days. These kids are chomping at the bit to get into these games AND the NHL. We used to have guys like Tootoo and Downey playing with 2 way contracts back and forth from Grand Rapids and back. Those days are over.

Wings upside is off the charts good. They remind me a little of Colorado just before all their young talent blossomed.
