Did anyone notice the huge variation in last night's halftime line. I checked at a few books and saw pk and Phil -1/2, then checked another who had Phil -2 1/2.

At first I thought this was a bad line (in my opinion it was bad for the book) and then I noticed on Don Best that a few others had similar lines.

So I hammered the TB +2 1/2, would imaagine many did. Do you think these lines were influenced more by opinion or unbalanced action on the game?

I seen a pk and +3.

I thought the pk was a bad line too. I asked another poster on AOL if it was a bad line too. LOL

I was concerned about betting it also

Phil -.5, Phil - 1.5, and Phil -2.5 or Phil -3.5, are all basically the same number in this case. Why, because the Eagles were losing by 3 at the half. So if Philly wins the second half by 3 the game is a tie, and must go into OT. Where the game becomes essentially a pick-em, whoever wins on the field, in OT. wins the bet. Different books used Phil -.5 (minus 20 or 25 cents) or Phil -3.5 (plus 5 or 10 cents).

raiders: lol, correct, some were very low cost or better - so if the Eagles had, in an alternate universe, scored 7 and the Bucs 6, final score TB 9-7, that middle would have been very, very nice to have.

If one paid a lot of vig for it, it wouldn't of course be worth it.

Nuff said.

The 7 to 6 scenario is why plenty of juice was attached to Phil -.5 lines.

Wil - I guarantee you there were books offering positive odds on .5 and 1. Nuff said.

TIP FOR NEOPHITE BOOKMAKERS

Treat the 2nd half as a completely different entity all to itself. So many rookie bookmakers try and get cute with halftimes and by doing so cut their profit margin noticably.

I had a freebie middle ( I think Jazz called these siddles) with -.5 +120 +1.5 -120.

I was looking for 7-6 as well.

Nuff said is right on who had the -.5 +120.

lol - close, Pancho, but you had a 'nirvana', a free shot. A 'siddle' would have been -1 +120 / +2.5 -120, where one of 2 numbers will cash - you side on the 1 and middle on the 2, hence my term siddle.

My bad Jazz.

Just don't go posting anymore manifestos on the topic like you did at covers.

Not to worry - come to think of it, you have a nirvaned middle, the other one would be a nirvaned siddle. If it wasn't free, drop the nirvana.
