The Padres may be the only team in baseball that doesn’t mind hitting the road for an extended period. They were at Petco for a 6 game stand last week that produced a 2-4 record. In fact, over the last 15 games in Americas Finest City SD has lost 11, on the road though the Padres have won 5 of their last 6 series.
SD has won 10 of 11 with Jacob Peavy who is 4-0 with a 1.60 ERA his last 7 starts…all Padres wins. The right-hander is also 4-1 with a 1.71 ERA on the road and he’s 2-0 L/T with a 1.63 ERA.
As for the Mets, they will send out Aaron Heilman who hasn’t seen the hill since September of 2003. NY lost 4 straight with Heilman last season and 7 of his last 8.
