Welcome to the new sponsor of the Rx Service Thread: Cappers File - The Largest Online Database For Rating Handicappers

The Largest Online Database for Researching and Rating Handicappers

Cappersfile is a common grounds for categorizing and identifying the truthful/good handicappers from the dishonest/bad handicappers. Over 2000 Cappersfiles can be found on our website all graded with an A through F rating, with the list continuously growing. The internet is a great tool for obtaining information; unfortunately, information can be posted and sold even if it is neither truthful nor accurate – Capperfile wants this to change!

Three Search Methods:
Cappersfile includes three methods for identifying which handicapper will best suit your needs.

Recommended Cappers: Cappersfile.comhas identified handicappers that have a minimum of “A” or “B” Cappersfile rating, and has personally experienced excellent customer service including expedited communications with these handicappers.

Browse function: allows for you to narrow your selection of handicappers by picking which options you prefer your handicapper to contain. You can narrow results by grade, free picks, guarantees, etc.

Search function: is available to see the grade given by Cappersfile, if a handicapper or handicapping website is already in mind.

Handicapper Grading:
Grades for each Cappersfile are derived from an established criteria set including: 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] party monitoring for record validity, guarantee offerings, domain longevity, active posting of results and archiving picks history.

Grades are given to handicappers on a scale of A, B, C, D and F.
A and B level cappers meet most, if not all, milestones that Cappersfile has identified to be considered a trustworthy handicapper.

C level cappers are not considered to be untrustworthy because they so contain some of the milestones that Cappersfile identifies as a trustworthy handicapper.

D and F level handicappers do not present their information as anticipated by Cappersfile.

Handicappers cannot buy their grade from Cappersfile, they must earn it!

User Reviews:

Cappersfile allows for you to give and read reviews to a specific handicapper based on Honesty, Customer Service, Winning Percentage, Pricing and Guarantees.

Wild Card Matchups

Athletics at Royals – Tuesday, 8:00 PM EST

Oakland: 88-74 overall, 40-41 on road
Kansas City: 89-73 overall, 43-29 at home

Probable Pitchers:
OAK: Lester (16-11, 2.46 ERA)
KC: Shields (15-8, 3.21 ERA)

Season series: The Royals dominated the A’s by winning five of seven meetings, including three of four at Kauffman Stadium in mid-August. However, Oakland’s two wins came with Jon Lester on the mound, as the southpaw allowed six earned runs in those two starts, but the A’s outscored the Royals, 19-6 in those two victories. In the five losses, Oakland tallied just seven runs. James Shields beat the A’s twice, which included a magnificent eight-inning performance in a 4-2 victory at Oakland as a +150 underdog.

Season recap: Oakland was 57-33 on July 8, but stumbled to a 31-41 finish, which included a 10-23 stretch from mid-August through mid-September. Kansas City had a roller coaster season en route to its first playoff appearance since winning the World Series way back in 1985. The Royals were sitting below the .500 mark in the first week of June at 29-32, but pulled off a 10-game winning streak, which included a six straight road victories. Kansas City caught fire in August by winning 17 of its first 21 games, while coming down to the final day of the season with a shot to win the AL Central title.

Up next: The winner of this series will face the Angels in the American League Divisional Series. Looking ahead, the Royals split six meetings with the Halos this season as each team went 2-1 at home. Oakland and Los Angeles were pretty even as well, as the Angels went 10-9 in 19 matchups with the A’s, while L.A. won seven of the final eight meetings.

Giants at Pirates – Wednesday, 8:00 PM EST

San Francisco: 88-74 overall, 43-38 on road
Pittsburgh: 88-74 overall, 51-30 at home

Probable Pitchers:
SF: Bumgarner (18-10, 2.98 ERA)
PIT: Undecided

Season series: The Pirates went 4-2 in six matchups against the Giants, winning each series. The first three matchups at PNC Park in early May were all decided by one run, which included an 11-10 extra-innings victory by the Giants. The Pirates walked off past the Giants the next night in a 2-1 triumph on a Starling Marte triple in which he scored on an error. At AT&T Park two months later, the Pirates dominated the Giants in the first two victories by outscoring San Francisco, 8-1. The Giants avoided the sweep in the finale in a back-and-forth affair as both teams blew leads in a 7-5 San Francisco victory.

Season recap: San Francisco began the season on fire with a 43-21 record, which was capped off by a 15-3 run. The Giants stumbled to a 10-22 mark heading into the All-Star break, pretty much falling behind the Dodgers for good in the NL West race. The second half saw the Giants play around .500 baseball, but a key 6-1 stretch in early September, along with Milwaukee melting down, gave San Francisco the advantage in the NL Wild Card. The Pirates started slowly, putting together a 10-18 mark through 28 games. A 22-11 run by Pittsburgh through June and early July got the Bucs back on track, while the Pirates went 17-4 in September to clinch home-field in Wednesday’s Wild Card matchup.

Up next: The Nationals are waiting in the wings, which would make for some interesting travel if the Giants were to win on Wednesday. Washington dominated San Francisco this season, winning five of seven matchups, including three of four at AT&T Park in June. The Pirates took three of four from the Nationals at home in their first series, but Washington swept Pittsburgh in D.C. in September, which included a pair of walk-off victories.

Game roundup: Zimmermann no-hits Marlins in finale
By THE SPORTS XCHANGE

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Jordan Zimmermann, in a dazzling tune-up for a postseason start, threw a no-hitter as the National League East champion Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 1-0 on Sunday in the regular-season finale for both teams before a roaring crowd of 35,085.

He retired center fielder Christian Yelich for the final out of the game on a diving catch in left field by rookie Stephen Souza Jr.

Zimmermann retired the first 14 batters before Justin Bour, the first baseman, drew a two-out walk in the fifth. Zimmermann then retired catcher J.T. Realmuto on a liner to short -- the third line drive out of the inning.

While holding Miami hitless, Zimmermann had singles in the fifth and seventh. The right-hander fanned 10 batters.

A's 4, Rangers 0

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Sonny Gray pitched a shutout and Oakland clinched the American League's second wild-card spot with a victory over Texas.

Josh Reddick and Stephen Vogt had run-scoring hits in the second for the A's, who added two runs in the ninth. It was more than enough for Gray (14-10), who gave up six hits, walked none and struck out five.

The A's, who entered the game needing a win or a Seattle Mariners loss to clinch a playoff berth, will travel to Kansas City for the AL wild-card game on Tuesday evening.

Tigers 3, Twins 0

DETROIT -- A dominant David Price scattered four hits over 7 1/3 shutout innings to give Detroit its fourth American League Central Division championship in a row.

The Tigers made a two-RBI game by second baseman Ian Kinsler stand up.

Right-hander Joba Chamberlain finished the eighth and right-hander Joe Nathan the ninth to get his 35th save.

Royals 6, White Sox 4

CHICAGO -- Kansas City did its part, but did not get the help it needed in Detroit to force a tie atop the AL Central.

The Royals' win was rendered moot about halfway through thanks to the Tigers' victory to secure the title. Kansas City will host the Oakland Athletics in the AL wild-card game Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium in the Royals' first postseason appearance since 1985.

Third baseman Christian Colon's two-run double keyed a three-run sixth inning for the Royals, who replaced their entire starting lineup in the fifth, after learning of the Tigers' win.

A's 4, Rangers 0

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Right-hander Sonny Gray pitched a shutout and Oakland clinched the AL's second wild-card spot.

Right fielder Josh Reddick and first baseman Stephen Vogt had run-scoring hits in the second for Oakland, which added two runs in the ninth.

Left fielder Brandon Moss led off the second with a double. Reddick followed with his seventh triple of the season. With one out, Vogt drove in Reddick with a base hit to left.

Reds 4, Pirates 1

CINCINNATI -- Kristopher Negron went 3-for-4 including a two-run homer, helping Johnny Cueto become Cincinnati's first 20-game winner in 26 years.

The Reds ended Pittsburgh's hopes of a National League Central title.

Neil Walker homered for Pittsburgh, which faces the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday in the NL wild-card game at PNC Park.

Orioles 1, Blue Jays 0

TORONTO -- Jonathan Schoop homered and Miguel Gonzalez pitched five innings for Baltimore.

Gonzalez allowed five hits and struck out two as he snapped a two-game losing streak of his own and the Orioles ended their three-game string of losses. The Blue Jays had won the first two games of the three-game series and finished their season with a 5-2 home stand.

The Orioles, who are the American League East champions, have three days off before beginning their postseason competition.

Yankees 9, Red Sox 5

BOSTON -- Derek Jeter delivered an RBI single in the final at-bat of his illustrious 20-year career for New York.

The 40-year-old Yankees' captain went 1-for-2 in his last game before being removed for a pinch runner in the third inning after driving in New York's third run with a high infield chopper that bounced off third baseman Garin Cecchini's hand.

New York right-hander Michael Pineda held Boston to three hits and one run while striking out 10 in 6 1/3 innings.

Cubs 5, Brewers 2

MILWAUKEE -- Anthony Rizzo hit his 32nd home run of the season and Chicago's collection of youngsters provided reason for optimism next year.

Rizzo, the Cubs' first baseman, went 3-for-4 and also reached on a walk to cap off a 6-for-11 series.

Rizzo put the Cubs on the board with a two-run home run off Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers in the first, then scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning when he came home on center fielder Arismendy Alcantara's two-run double that broke a 2-2 tie.

Mets 8, Astros 3

NEW YORK -- Houston second baseman Jose Altuve locked up the American League batting championship but New York won the season finale when Lucas Duda collected four RBI.

Altuve went 2-for-4 with an RBI to raise his average to .341. Martinez went 0-for-3 for the Tigers and finishes the season at .335. The 24-year-old Altuve is the first batting champion in Astros history.

Duda hit the 90-RBI mark with a two-run, tie-breaking double in the fifth inning before hitting his 30th homer, a mammoth two-run shot in the eighth inning.

Indians 7, Rays 2

CLEVELAND -- David Murphy and Zach Walters homered and left-hander T.J. House pitched five solid innings to lead Cleveland.

The Indians finished the season in third place of the American League Central. Tampa Bay finished fourth in the AL East.

Cleveland, using a lineup filled mostly with reserves, took a 2-1 lead in the second inning. Right fielder Murphy led off with a home run over the wall in right-center field, his eighth homer of the year, off a 0-2 pitch from right-hander Alex Cobb.

Braves 2, Phillies 1

PHILADELPHIA -- In the final game of seasons to forget for both teams, Atlanta beat Philadelphia.

The Braves got to Phillies starter Cole Hamels from the onset, putting the first four batters aboard to score two runs in the opening frame before going silent. But that was all they needed in winning Game 162 of 2014.

Atlanta sat in first place of the NL East on July 18, but staggered to the finish line, going a major-league-worst 7-18 in September to complete its first losing season since 2008.

Giants 9, Padres 3

SAN FRANCISCO -- Warming up for the playoffs, San Francisco earned a second consecutive win, getting a two-run home run from Buster Posey in a victory over San Diego.

Posey, who hadn't played the Giants' previous two games after experiencing soreness in his back Thursday night, got San Francisco even in the bottom of the first after the Padres had scored twice in the top of the inning.

Pinch hitter Adam Duvall smacked a solo home run, his third, in the fourth inning, and the Giants busted the game open with a four-run seventh that featured a two-run double by Joaquin Arias.

Dodgers 10, Rockies 5

LOS ANGELES -- Matt Kemp, Adrian Gonzalez and Roger Bernadina homered, leading playoff-bound Los Angeles past Colorado.

Kemp hit a two-run shot. Bernadina, who replaced Kemp in right field, contributed a career-high four RBIs with a three-run homer and a run-scoring single. Gonzalez added a three-run blast.

Right-hander Zack Greinke (17-8) established a single-season high in wins. In five innings, Greinke induced seven groundouts and amassed six strikeouts while conceding just one run, one walk and four hits. He struck out six.

Mariners 4, Angels 1

SEATTLE -- Felix Hernandez and Seattle did their part Sunday, beating Los Angeles, but the final four innings of the game were relatively meaningless after Seattle was eliminated from playoff contention.

Oakland's 4-0 victory over Texas effectively finished the Mariners' season before it was officially over.

Hernandez (15-6) pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit. Along the way, he won the American League's ERA title (2.14, which moved him ahead of Chris Sale 2.16) and earned his 15th victory of the season -- Hernandez's highest win total since he went 19-5 in 2009.

Wild Card format offers pitching mismatches in MLB playoffs
By MARC MELTZER

It’s playtime in the major leagues. The intensity of both players and fans goes up a notch. Heck, in some cities you’ll even see the first sellout game of the season. How bout that?! Playoff baseball is as good as the game gets. It’s also when I slow down my betting.

The first obvious thing with the MLB playoffs is there are less games being played each day. Less games played means that there are less opportunities to find mismatches to bet. In fact, the matchups can be as tight as any you’ll see all year in baseball.

These are the best teams in the league playing one another. We're not looking for mismatches when the Minnesota Twins play the Detroit Tigers. Having said that, the Wild Card games offer some mismatches during the Division Series.

In the past, each team was able to set their pitching staff exactly the way they wanted matchups to play out. All games in the first series would start with team ace versus team ace and so on down the line. That's still the case with the first series but the recent addition of Wild Card games mean that matchups in the following series aren’t exactly as those teams would like.

No matter who the Wild Card playoff teams start in their games, their pitching rotation for the next series will be out of whack. Eventually, there is potential for a large mismatch if the Division Series go long enough.

If the Oakland A’s make the playoffs as a Wild Card team, the chances are good that they’ll pitch John Lester in that game making him less available for the AL Division Series if they win. Likewise if the Kansas City Royals win the game they won’t have James Shields available to matchup against Jered Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels in the first game of the AL Division Series.

Mismatches will continue for the next couple of games but should get back to normal for the World Series. I don't claim to be the smartest gambler around and look for obvious mismatches when I bet baseball. I'd rather bet a team that's +150 to +175 than a team that's plus or minus 110. This is why baseball betting is so attractive to me. I can win less than I do in football or basketball but win more money.

I rarely find value with series bets, so I've kept my MLB betting to a minimum during the playoffs. For a change, I watch the games as a fan. We'll see how things develop with the individual games but I'm happy sitting back and rooting for the Washington Nationals to cash my World Series futures bet from before the season.

MLB roundup: Redmond will be back as Marlins manager
By THE SPORTS XCHANGE

The Miami Marlins agreed to a contract extension with manager Mike Redmond that will run through the 2017 season, multiple media outlets reported.

The Marlins confirmed via Twitter that Redmond and his entire staff will return for the 2015 season.

The Marlins went 139-184 record (.430) in his two season with the Marlins, who finished 77-85 this season.

Losing staff ace Jose Fernandez in May to Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery did not help.

--Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun played in Sunday's regular-season finale, but he is scheduled to undergo thumb surgery on Thursday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Braun hopes the procedure will correct a nerve problem in his right thumb that given him pain since early in the 2013 season.

--Brewers right-hander Brandon Kintzler will undergo surgery Tuesday on his left patella tendon. He said the issue has been bothering him for nearly two years.

--Cleveland Indians designated hitter Jason Giambi said he has not decided yet whether he will retire, or attempt to play one more year. Giambi, 43, spent most of the season on the disabled list.

--Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Russell Martin missed his second straight start with a left hamstring strain.

--Detroit Tigers center fielder Rajai Davis hopes he can play by Thursday after suffering a Grade 1 pubic symphysis strain Saturday night.

---Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Chris Tillman will pitch Thursday's opener of the Division Series, but Showalter has not announced the rest of his rotation.

--The Toronto Blue Jays claimed right-handed pitcher Cory Burns off waivers from Tampa Bay and selected the contract of 1B Matt Hague from Triple-A Buffalo.

--Los Angeles Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker told The Los Angeles Times that he's "very optimistic" that he'll be able to pitch in the postseason despite suffering a strained rib cage in a Sept. 15 win over Seattle.

--San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy announced that first baseman/outfielder Travis Ishikawa, who made his third career start in left field Sunday, would be the team's starter in left field Wednesday in the wild-card game.

--St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny scratched Adam Wainwright as his starting pitcher for Sunday, after learning that the Cardinals had clinched the NL Central title. Wainwright is expected to pitch the Cardinals' first game of the postseason.

Bochy confirms Bumgarner to start Wednesday
Andrew Avery

To the surprise of nobody, San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy confirmed that staff ace Madison Bumgarner will start at the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League wildcard game Wednesday.

The southpaw was stellar all season long for the Giants, posting an 18-10 record and 2.98 ERA this season.

Bumgarner did, however, have one of his worst outings of the season against the Pirates. He lasted four innings, giving up five earned runs on six hits en route to picking up the loss in a 5-0 win for the Bucs.

KEY STAT: Both teams have scored in eight of the last 11 meetings

EXPERT VERDICT: Newcastle are struggling in the bottom three of the Premier League, their manager is under pressure, the fans are unhappy and they look anything but a united team on the pitch. A trip to Stoke is pretty much the worst of tonics and it would be unwise to expect the Potters to let up on their struggling opponents.

RECOMMENDATION: Stoke

KEY STAT: Parma have not kept a league clean sheet this season

EXPERT VERDICT: The rebirth of Andrea Stramaccioni has been one of the stories of the Serie A season and Udinese can maintain their excellent start against Parma. The visitors have a poor defence with ten goals conceded in four matches and Antonio Di Natale, rested for the win at Lazio on Thursday, is the man most likely to take advantage.

RECOMMENDATION: A Di Natale first goalscorer

KEY STAT: Rangers have lost one of their last 44 league games

EXPERT VERDICT: If Hibs thought things couldn’t get any worse after last season’s relegation, how wrong they were. They now find themselves at the wrong end of the Championship and can expect no mercy from a Rangers side who have won eight of their last nine in all competitions. Hibs aren’t getting smashed but a fifth one-goal defeat is on the cards.

RECOMMENDATION: Rangers 2-1

KEY STAT: Palermo have drawn three of their four league matches this term

EXPERT VERDICT: Lazio were expected to be among the teams challenging for Europe but the pressure is already on after three defeats in four. They have the players to improve but confidence is a problem and the Romans may have to settle for a point against a Palermo side who have made a respectable return to Serie A.

KEY STAT: Roma have won all six of their matches this season

EXPERT VERDICT: This should be a high-quality encounter with plenty of goals. Manchester City are finding their rhythm in forward positions - they have scored 11 goals in their last two matches - but the Premier League champions remain suspect defensively and in-form Roma should provide a real test at the Etihad.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Sporting are unbeaten in their last 16 European home matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Sporting’s home record in European competition is worthy of respect but rarely will they have faced a team of Chelsea’s quality. The Premier League leaders have been in ominous form domestically, collecting 16 points from a possible 18, and should possess enough quality in all areas of the pitch for victory.

HOLLYWOOD DRAMA looks good to best this field. Take a look at this standardbred's avg speed number of 75 and compare to today's class rating. Looks like a nice play. Could be considered for this race if only for the good speed rating achieved in the last outing. Chances are greatly increased for harness racers starting from the 2 hole at Grand River Raceway. CLASS ME NICE - This gelding has been battling against some of the most competitive horses in this field of horses recently. With a nice 74 TrackMaster Speed Rating last time out, will clearly be a factor in this race. KDAZZLE - Some trainers just fit better with certain standardbreds. That seems to be the case today with Sheppard. A respectable wager.

With a solid driver, who has won at a great 32 percent rate this last month, this has to be one of the top choices. Pace makes the race is a favorite saying of this consortium. Pace numbers here point to a bang-up play. CHAXIRAXI HANOVER - She has been doing work well and the speed figures are among the most favorable in the group. Comes into this outing with competitive TrackMaster class statistics as compared to the group of animals - could be worth a shot. FIXED INCOME - Worth a look here based on the numbers in the speed rating department alone. Has a clear-cut shot here, if she can repeat her back racing class.

The Walker Group Picks

# 3 SMART THINKING 6/5

# 1 COSMO THE COMET 8/1

# 4 BIGSHOTINTHENEWS 3/1

SMART THINKING has a very good shot to take this race. Players ought to take a good look at this one as this gelding has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group. Ferraro has him trained strongly to break sharply out of the starting gate. Is a solid choice - given the 98 Equibase Speed Figure from his most recent race. COSMO THE COMET - Should compete quite well in the pace battle which bodes well with this group. Earned a reliable speed figure in the most recent race. Can run another good one in this contest. BIGSHOTINTHENEWS - Should be given consideration here on the basis of the numbers in the speed department alone. Recorded a formidable speed rating last time out.
