Spot Play: CASSA’S IMAGE (5th)

Race 1

(1) PREDATOR DVM has some back class to him and draws best; capable of going down the road in the 2014 opener. (4) BJ'S RAMEAU is in for half the tag before even making a start for Allard; red flag? (7) FOX VALLEY BARBOSA has been sharp at this level. It's hard to gauge these horses with all the missed time so proceed with caution.


Race 2

(2) LIKE A HUSH had some good Pocono form at the end of last season and the veteran draws well here. (6) KING'S CAVALIER has raced well in his last few over the five-eighths tracks. (1) BRUSSEL SPROUT draws best and was Bartlett's choice.

Race 3

(3) SCIROCCO CALIEGIRL actually raced less than ten days ago; maybe that gives her a conditioning advantage, (1) HAWK WILD will be the speed from the rail. (6) STIRLING BELLA burned money last out; prior efforts were good.

Race 4

(2) BIG Z CLASS has some good half-mile track form and he may look to take these all the way. (4) BEAUTIFUL WINDSONG gets some post relief and should be more involved. (3) QUANTUM CONFIDENT was lucky to shake free and win last out; he'll be overbet here.

Race 5

(8) CASSA'S IMAGE clearly looks better than these and the outside post shouldn't be a major problem. (2) ROYALTY ON HIGH should be forwardly placed from this spot. (3) DELCREST BIG RED ships from Canada with very limited experience; we may need to see one first.

Race 6

(6) ROCK ME PLEASE hails from live connections and may be value in a race where it looks like anything goes. (4) ARTSBRED CAMOTION has speed and is formful. (1) SAMS TREASURE is not a prolific winner but he merits a look from this spot.

Race 7

(3) KJ'S FOXY LADY has been facing much better and more seasoned foes in all recent races and she is very clearly the one to beat here. (4) ODDS ON ALPHA appears to have some ability and Kakaley drives tonight. (2) BETS DRAGGIN FLY will save ground from this spot and may rally late.

Race 8

(4) GRECALE AS returns locally and has the speed and the class to get it done. (5) DEAD WRONG drops back to the basement and could be a threat with smooth sailing. (1) IMPRESSIVE EARL had been racing well in the Amateurs except for that break last out; Stalbaum drives.

Race 9

(3) A SHAM OF AMBER raced well in defeat upon arrival and she deserves top billing off that effort. There's a new trainer listed, however, and I don't quite know what to make of that. (1) AMERICAN SHUTTLE has big speed and the best draw. (5) A AND G'S DESIGN could be a closing threat but she didn't fire off a live trip last out.

Race 10

(4) TOUCH AND GO returns locally, where he's had some moderate success; he can threaten with a trip. (1) MYSTICAL VALENTINE figures to be the one to beat given the inside draw. (2) RIDING WITH P drops in price, but does face more seasoned foes.

Race 11

(4) FOUR STARZ TRACE was facing better when last seen here and he's probably as classy as any in here. (3) FAMEOUS WESTERN is very lightly raced, but he does have some ability. (2) ORIENTAL CARPET drops out of claimers and draws well.

Race 12

(1) WINDSUN KENDA has been second best in her two local efforts and she has a post edge on main rival (8) IT'S A MIRACLE. The latter has been impressive since arriving and she looks for her sixth straight pari-mutuel victory. (7) LEAVEUMLADY qualified effectively after pulling up with bleeding issues.
