Is hard not to examine based on Equibase speed figs which have been competitive - 84 avg - of late. Win percentage under similar conditions may be the key for this mare. SUZZONA - Could best this group here, showing respectable figures of late. Recent figures for the jockey - 16 win percent - make this mare stand out in this group. JOLENA JO - Sharp dividends over time for this jock and conditioner duo. Put up a strong Equibase Speed Figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this race.

BE LIKE MS. D. - The May 10th affair at Louisiana Downs was at a class level of (87). Dropping down the ladder based on class rating points considerably, so he should be in a good spot to take this race. This gelding recorded a good speed fig of 80 in his last event. That speed rating should be lofty enough to win this time around. ME 'N MY WILDCAT - I like to play horses that faced open company in their last race and drop into state bred races. This gelding fits the bill. COMMANDER SPORT - Gelding's last race was against tougher open company. He's in with easier 'state breds' today. I like this mount. Should be familiar with this level since he ran against the same type last out at Remington Park.

BLUSHING ROMEO - Doubtful for this one to do much running with no success lately in a sprint affair. TURNBACK CREEK - Tough to wager on any mount in a short distance event at 5/1 when he hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last sixty days. This gelding showed very liitle last time out of the box. EASILY TRICKED - Most of the time I need a sprinter to have some recent good showings in sprint races in order to back him. Didn't hit the board on Aug 22nd at Remington Park. Followed it up with another lackluster try. On a downward sequence. Speed figures keep decreasing.

LARISSA'S LOVE - Mena and Montano getting together are a handicapper's friend. The rest of the field may trail this racer all the way around the track. I like when a pony has dropped in class at least five points like this one did last race out and then runs against a similar field right back. Montano must've found the right class level. Looks like a possible overlay in this event at morning line odds of 4/1. Finished fifth in last race at Fair Grounds but was close at the end. GOLDEN PHOENIX - Have to give this mare a fair chance. Ran a solid effort last race out within the last 30 days. The latest speed figure of 77 is the top last race speed figure in the field. SKIPAWAYWITHPAT - I like when a horse has dropped in class at least 5 points like this one did last race out and then runs against a similar field right back. Leggio must've found the right class level. The jock and trainer combination here have a high win percentage when they combine forces. She has the top earnings per start. Take a good look at this horse. Napravnik is reunited today with this animal after enjoying some pretty nice success riding in the past.

SHOW ELLE THESTAGE - Hasn't raced or had any works since Dec 26th. Not much value on this morning-line choice. This less than sharp equine's record tells you not to bet on her as the chalk. GROOVY DEB - In any event of 6 furlongs, I like to wager on a contender that has been sharp in short distance affairs recently. Could be tough for this entrant to beat this group off of that last speed fig. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class rating, so put her on the questionable challengers list.

MR. MUCH - A wise man taught me to wager on the lone speed horse. Take a look at this horse. Taking a class drop in class rating points from his Dec 20th race at Turfway Park. Based on that element, I will give this horse the advantage.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 COULD BE MICHAEL (ML=8/5), #3 HESA TOUGH RASCAL (ML=3/1), #1 CINCINNATI RIB (ML=4/1),

COULD BE MICHAEL - I think this chalk horse needs this race under his belt to start getting back into shape. HESA TOUGH RASCAL - Where is the speed? None to be found in here to set things up for this thoroughbred. Didn't land in the top three on Sep 20th at Thistledown. Followed it up with another less than stellar performance. When checking today's Equibase class figure, he will have to earn a better speed figure than in the last race to battle in this dirt route. CINCINNATI RIB - Common speed figure last time around the track at Beulah Park at 5 1/2 furlongs. Don't think this questionable contender will improve too much in today's race.
