MAYBRYS CHALLENGE - This front-runner is running a shorter distance today. Should enhance his winning probability. I do like the fact this gelding is back in a race so quickly. This gelding has been working well, and the recent bullet work says he's primed for a big race today. PETE'S FLEET - This colt is back in a race very quick. This is a great angle - Sprinters that come back in less than 10 days after a race. A good sign of a sharp and ready racehorse. On board this mount on January 2nd and Lopez is yet again in the irons in today's race. Look at this colt's PP lines. With each contest he keeps getting closer. Took a significant drop in class rating last time around the track at Aqueduct. Returning to a similar class level right here. Should perform well.

CHANNEL BOY - Lackluster winning pct (4) with first-timers for this sire, Utopia (JPN).

Race 1

(6) STIRLING BELLA raced pretty well last week and she gets a weak vote based on that effort. (4) CAN CAN CRUISER will attract attention, especially with Sears on the return drive. (1) HAWK WILD collapsed on the front end last week and is tough to endorse tonight.

Race 2

(1) LIKE A HUSH went evenly last week and should benefit from that needed start; lots to like tonight starting from the rail. (7) KAPTAIN MAC DADDY raced well upon arrival and he can build off that effort. (5) MM'S LUCKY BOY is accustomed to facing much better.

Race 3

(5) BAY FISHEN DOC gets a slightly improved post and has some speed; maybe. (3) LILSHARKSHOOTER has plenty of experience over this surface; with Manzi not driving (get well soon!) it remains to be seen who's in the bike. (1) PUTNAMS ATTACK ships from The Meadowlands with no current form but at least he draws best.

Race 4

(5) FASTER FASTER clearly needed last week's start and she's shown speed in the past. (2) HAPPY APPLES will benefit from the improved post. (1) AMERICAN SHUTTLE has speed, but endurance has been the issue.

Race 5

(1) STORMY NEW YORK has never been one of my favorites but he's been racing well for a live barn. (3) GET PACKIN is a terror at this level; I still want to know why he didn't leave the gate in his last race. (4) IMA SPUR was on the move when he broke last week.

Race 6

(3) BIG BAY POINT drops in class, will be on the lead in two steps and he can take these the distance. (4) COSMICPEDIA has hinted at ability and he also gets class relief. (5) NATURAL HABITAT was an easy winner when last seen here at this level.

Race 7

(2) NEWBEGINING was facing better when last seen here, and he had some success at that higher level. From this inside post and with Sears driving he looks like the one to beat. (4) MARINER SEELSTER hit the board last week at The Meadowlands; that makes him a player here. (1) CRUISING YANEE has been awful since the Banca claim; can he turn it around?

Race 8

(3) MCERLEAN broke last out losing all chance; if he reverts back to his prior effort he'll be tough to beat. (7) WESTERN DAKOTA has class to him; if he can make his way into the race he'll be a threat. (1) THAT MAN OF MINE draws best and should hang around for a share.

Race 9

(8) WEDNESDAYS WHIM ships in for Burke off two straight wins at The Meadowlands and we all know Brennan won't be sitting last with him. (6) ODDS ON ALPHA was second best to a very logical winner last week. (4) WILD DREAM ships in off a good win at Monticello.

Race 10

(1) CASHENDASH HANOVER was the victim of poor cover last out on the big track. He can trip out from this spot. (3) MYSTICAL VALENTINE bumps up off an easy win and Sears sticks with him. (2) N J LAW is back in for a tag and he draws well.

Race 11

(4) LUCKY HOUSE took two straight at Philly and he looks like a good fit here. (1) UNTOUCHABLE ONE has missed more time than most of the rest in here but he draws best and has ability. (5) PANONGAHELA has done little wrong since arriving locally.

Race 12

(3) LEAVEUMLADY was big in defeat last week and she can build off that effort. (5) IT'S A MIRACLE didn't really fire while following the top choice last out; prior form is solid. (6) A SHAM OF AMBER faces better but could be a closing threat.

Spot Play: JUSTASMALLTOWNGIRL (9th)

Race 1

(5) HOPIESDRAGNINTHEDO raced very well last start and appears to race at his best on or near the front. He should get that again with a good post and MacDonald in the bike. (2) BROTHER JOHN is carrying a five race win streak onto this circuit and gets Jamieson in the bike. (4) DRY ICE has been knocking on the door and is capable in this series.


Race 2

(9) DREAMFAIR BOGART will have to overcome post nine, but won at this level two starts ago and has been racing very well. (10) CANBEC KADENCE won in this class lsat start and will have to use his gate-speed to overcome post 10. (2) MUSCLE ON BROADWAY was the favourite last week and will look for a turnaround effort. He's capable with an inside post.

Race 3

(6) MAKE SOME MEMORIES is due to win at this level. She's missed by no more than a head in her last three. (9) ABS TO ENVY closed very well in her last two starts and makes her second start for Moreau. (5) SUCKITUPBUTTERCUP draws well and will likely offer a price. I suspect we'll see her put into the race with MacDonald aboard.

Race 4

(6) ONTARIO SUCCESS continues to race well since his layoff and is a nice fit for this series. He closes well and comes from a top barn. (8) KG DRAGONATOR closed very well to win as the favourite in his latest. He's lightly raced and will get a lot of attention. (9) MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT has hit the board in four of her last five starts and is able to overcome post nine for the third straight week.

Race 5

(2) BETTER ART draws inside and raced very well last start. This is a wide-open tilt and she shows a lot of versatility for being lightly raced. (3) MOTOR SHARK comes out of the Moreau barn and drops in class. (7) BEVEL HANOVER has hard used in both his last two starts to earn the front. This will be the second time he races in the McMaster barn and I'd expect to see an improved effort.

Race 6

(5) NOWUCIT NOWUDONT made a miscue in his latest, but certainly has the speed and drops in class. (6) COOL GUY also drops in class, has terrific gate-speed and will draw a lot of attention. (7) ZEUS LIGHTNING has a lot of back class in his favour and closed very well last start.

Race 7

(10) KATHERINE B is carrying a two-race win streak in her favour, comes out of Moreau's barn and has gate-speed to overcome post 10. (9) FIRSTCLASSFLIGHT has also won two straight and moves onto this circuit. She had a terrific 2012 campaign. (1) NORVENA HANOVER gets the rail and has hit the board in three of his last four starts in this class.

Race 8

(2) LITTLEBITACLASS moves into the Menary barn and will get a lot of attention in here based on his connections and record last season. (8) SENATTLE SLEW comes out of the Gillis barn, enjoys racing from behind and has hit the board in three of her last four. (6) TEX is a good option to consider for the triactor. He doesn't like to win, but has hit the board in three of his last four.

Race 9

(7) JUSTASMALLTOWNGIRL has been providing high odds despite racing terrific in this class in recent starts. She's hard to overlook in here. (10) COLLECT CALL has terrific gate-speed, moves onto this circuit and comes from a very capable trainer. (1) INCREDIBLE FRANK gets the rail and the addition of lasix has appeared to help. He'll likely offer a price.

Race 10

(3) ASTOR enters the bottom class on this circuit, but he comes out of O'Sullivan's barn and gets McNair in the bike. (2) I SCOOT SAM draws inside and enjoyed a terrific season last year. He has excellent gate-speed and has won four of his last five. (1) DONEGAL GERALD gets the rail and raced terrific last start in this class. He may offer a price again.

Race 11

(1) DHARMA INITIATIVE draws the rail and has closed very well in each of his last two starts. He's at a level where he's capable of winning. (6) BAD BOY MATT comes out of the O'Sullivan barn and has hit the board in each of his last three starts. (3) ROCK N GO is fresh off a win, has gate-speed and is classified accordingly.

Race 12

(3) DUKE DID IT won at this level two starts ago, but wasn't himself last week. I'm looking for a turnaround effort. (2) BOOGITYDOC BOOGITY draws well and has won two straight. He enjoys closing and raced very well last season. (8) WESTERN SENATOR won last start at high odds. He's a good option for the triactor as he remains at the same level.

TWO T'S AT TWO B - Jock jumped on this colt's back for the first time on December 28th. Should be in touch with the horse even better this time around. I like this colt. Has the highest earnings per race entered in here today. Finished sixth at Parx Racing last out. Was close at the end and at odds of 8/1 right here, he looks like a possible contender. COLLEGE BOUND - This horse coming off a solid race in the last thirty days is a serious competitor in my book. CONTE - It looks like Pennington had to learn about this gelding on Dec 31st when riding him for the first time. Back on board again today. Pennington and Dutrow perform well when they team up. It's hard to beat a +32 return on investment for a jockey and conditioner.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 BELLAMY XPRESS (ML=4/1), #1A WHISTLE INCLUDED (ML=8/1), #1 VISIGODO (ML=8/1),

BELLAMY XPRESS - A bit of a less than stellar performance when this gelding finished fourth. Today's event is 7 furlongs. Hasn't hit the board in a sprint affair in the last sixty days. Not the greatest of signs. The speed rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class figure of today's affair. Mark this mount as a questionable challenger. WHISTLE INCLUDED - This mount showed very liitle last time out finishing fifth. Don't expect any betterment in today's event. Hasn't hit the board in any sprint events recently. Improbable to see him doing it this time around either. This gelding earned a speed figure in his last race which probably isn't good enough in today's race. Hard to keep following this kind of 'bridesmaid' horse. VISIGODO - Don't think this pony will make an impact today. That last rating was mediocre when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

UNDER COVER QUEEN - When Bridges and Polito partner up on animals the return on investment has been great at +96. The 'x-factor' at work here is that this filly has been working over this track getting ready for her first start. TIME FOR A BIER - I have to like this filly's likelihood of winning at the shorter distance. Going on Lasix for the 1st time. While a common but well known handicapping angle, it's still quite an important piece of information.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 EASTER HARMONY (ML=2/1), #3 SEN NIGHT (ML=5/2), #6 CHINO VALLEY (ML=9/2),

EASTER HARMONY - Once you've got at least ten races at the venue and still have no triumphs, its tough to break through for a victory. SEN NIGHT - This mare is always around, but just doesn't win. Tough to play her on the top end. Most unsatisfactory speed rating in the last race at Turf Paradise at 6 furlongs. Don't believe this vulnerable equine will improve too much in today's race. CHINO VALLEY - Should have at least finished in the money in the last couple months in a sprint race to be any kind of value at minimal odds in a sprint. Just can't bet on this racer. Didn't show me anything positive last race out or on December 11th.
