Domingo German clearly has great stuff as he has 23 K’s in 20 1/3 innings. I think he’ll be able to hold his own against a Detroit lineup that is only scoring 3.9 runs per game against right-handed starters. He’ll be opposed by Mike Fiers, who is 4-3 with a 4.44 ERA and 1.335 WHIP in 10 starts this season for the Tigers.

Fiers certainly does not enjoy facing the Yankees. He is 0-1 with a 6.19 ERA and 1.475 WHIP in four career starts against them. They should get to him early and often in this one, just as they did on April 13th by tagging him for 6 runs in 5 2/3 innings.

I don't believe Nick Tropeano should be a favorite in this price range. He's a No. 5 type pitcher at best and the Angels aren't some powerhouse. They are 14-18 at home, have a weak outfield aside from the great Mike Trout and are vulnerable in the bullpen having arguably lost their two best relief pitchers, Keynan Middleton and Blake Wood, to season-ending elbow injuries. Kansas City has won seven of its last 12 games. Until yesterday, the Royals had gone seven consecutive games without an error. Royals starter Danny Duffy has had a rough season, but he's strung together two straight good outings giving up two runs and eight hits in 13 2/3 innings against the Rangers and Twins. At this big of a 'dog price, I'll put a peanut on the Royals.

The Caps lost a high scoring Game 1 by a score of 6-4, but they have since put together back to back wins, both those games falling short of the total of 5.5. Game 4 is likely to be a tight checking affair, as the Golden Knights really can't afford to go back to Vegas down 3-1. Braden Holtby made an incredible save in the dying seconds of Game 2, and he was nearly perfect in Game 3. The only goal that got past him was on a careless attempt to clear the puck, that was intercepted and shot into a wide open goal. After seeing a monster 10 combined goals in Game 1, the scoring has dried up drastically, as Game 2 saw just 5 combined goals and the Under, while Game 3 saw only 4 combined goals, and another Under.

Overall, the Golden Knights are on a 6-2-1 Under run their last 9 postseason games, while the Capitals are now 5-1-2 Under the total their last 8 postseason skates.

Marc-Andre Fleury and Braden Holtby have been very tough to get the puck past over the past 2 games, and I suspect they will remain tough again tonight in Game 4.

The Capitals and the Golden Knights have provided a thrilling series so far that has been a back and forth battle between these two teams. This is going to be a great game in Washington again, but the Capitals were able to come out on top and that was mainly because the offense of the Capitals figured out how to beat the glove and the stick of Fleury. It did not help out that Fleury cost his own team in the form of a penalty, that would lead to the Golden Knights power play defense getting worn out quite a bit.


In the third game of the series Fleury was in net for the Golden Knights and the defense did have some support for him, but still let the Capitals stack up in front of the net. Fleury faced a total of 26 shots in the game and obviously allowed 3 of them to slip past him and into the back of the net.


With the Capitals the defense was amazing and Holtby did have some work, but the lone goal the Golden Knights managed was a mental error on Holtby's part as he turned the puck over while he was behind the net. Holtby in the game did allow a single goal out of the 22 shots that he faced in the game.
