its not in rubber room-where is it? Come on guys it's baseball season-late July and you're moving threads around? You need as many posters as you can get right now. I dont understand the logic at all.

The thread is not hijacked just moved to where it belongs - Politics and World Events. All I said was to each his own.

I meant to write In Politics and World Events. Not "Is".

My point is that about 90% of all these threads is somebody's opinion.

I just found it funny that it was moved.

JohnnyD,

The mods on duty are decent guys, they are just far left wingers. Nice job standing up for the only country in the world willing and able to do the heavy lifting. The hate-America first types are plenty around here. Lander will chime in any time now.

Michael777 in all honesty I would hate to see you leave the Rx. over politics. In reality we are all here for one reason, that is to make our way in the world of gambling a little easier. I am sure we have much more in common than we do not. Unfortunately the Delgado thing ended up here offshore when it really should have been elsewhere. Now you and maybe others are upset about something that was never supposed to be an issue here at the Rx. Carlos Degado's politics have nothing to do with making money betting on anything. I hope you will reconsider.

Best of luck, wil.

Michael,

If this gets to you go down to the politcal forum and read some of the anti-US stuff posted down there. It amazes me Ken has'nt hired one mod to balance some of the shit that is posted down there. Between Wilm, General Pete and Wildbill you get all one side, the far left wing side. Isn't that strange?

I can see this thread is headed to the Politics forum also. What I don't get is why is being democratic or liberal minded anti American? Are only Republicans or conservatives patriots or pro American? I was brought up a democrat where or how does that make me anti American?

Now that I have fully thawed out from the New York Jets game last night, I am able to write this morning. Last night’s Jets game might have been the coldest sporting event I have ever attended.
My feet were frozen and that was while wearing three pairs of socks.
I suppose a Jets win and a playoff berth helps with the thawing process. But I have to admit, it might be a long time before I sit in those type of conditions again.
Now on to some news about another New York team.
It looks like former New York Mets’ first baseman Carlos Delgado is on the comeback trail.
http://theghostofmoonlightgraham.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/carlos-delgado.jpg

According to the Associated Press , Carlos Delgado went 1-for-4 last night playing for the Gigantes de Carolina in the Puerto Rico Winter League. It was his first game back since undergoing hip surgery in May.
Delgado’s one hit was a single to left field in the sixth inning.
Delgado’s stint in Puerto Rico is essentially an audition for major league teams. Delgado, who is now 37 and is a free agent, needs to prove he is healthy in order for a team to give him a contract for 2010.
Delgado’s two most likely suitors are the Mets and the Baltimore Orioles.
I personally think Delgado would be a very good low-risk, high-reward signing for a team as a DH, not as an everyday first baseman. Offensively, even at 37, Delgado has showed no signs of slowing down over the last couple of years.
He was a MVP candidate in 2008 hitting .271 with 38 home runs and he was off to a great start in 2009, hitting .298 with four home runs and a .914 OPS in 26 games. There is nothing to suggest he won’t be able to hit 20 – 30 home runs in 2010.
Defensively, I am worried how effective a 37-year-old coming off hip surgery can be in the field. Delgado was never the best defensive first baseman to begin with, so how is he going to be now after surgery?
Baseball is shifting to a more defensive game, so defense even at first base matters these days.
And if you don’t believe me, all you need to do is look at the New York Yankees’ infield defense with Mark Teixeira as compared to their infield defense with Jason Giambi.
It was night and day.
Despite my thinking that Delgado is better suited as a DH, I would be shocked if he didn’t return to the Mets on an incentive-laden contract.
