To be a catch a player must have BOTH feet on the the ground or a body part other than the hand. At what point in the video did Jennings have both feet on the ground or a body part where Tate didn't have at least 2 hands and 10 fingers on the ball?

Jennings had the ball.....period.

I did see when Tate had all 10 fingers on GB 37 as he pushed him to the ground. How that ref that called the play a TD didn't see that PI on Tate and then make probably one of the worst primetime game calls I have seen in years is beyond me.

Ok here.... explains it all even with a close-up photo http://nfltrend.blogspot.com/2012/09/nfl-needs-to-end-lockout-asap-packers.html

NFL needs to end the lockout ASAP -Packers were robbed

Looking at the photo, it makes you wonder what the referee was thinking when he made the touchdown call. You can see the ref's arm going up to make the signal, but look at where the ball is while he is doing it. Green Bay defender Jennings, clearly has both hands on the ball and is clutching it to his chest. While Seattle's WR Tate, has his forearm around Jennings neck and chest. The other referee had already signaled to "Stop the clock" which meant it was going to be a touchback, and Green Bays ball... game over. Then, out of nowhere, a hero runs in out of nowhere, and signals a touchdown. As you can see, by looking at the pic, Jennings had 100% possession of the ball. So, I ask again... "What was that referee thinking?"

Now, you will have the biased Seattle die-hard fans saying that the referee was using the "Simultainious Catch" rule. Which basically says, that if two opposing players simultainiously catch the ball at the exact same time, the tie goes to the offensive player. Well, as this photo shows, Gren Bay's Jennings again has 100% possession of the ball, has both hands on it, and is bringing it down to his chest. You can see Seattle's WR Tate elbow near Jennings stomach area. So unless Tate has an extraordinarily long forarm, thats made of rubber, there is no way he has any possession of the ball. It would just defy all the laws of physics and the build of the human body for Tate to be remotely close to possessing the ball at the same time as Jennings. The NFL/Referee lockout has to stop. There are so many fans, players and organizations that are fed up... and ITS ONLY WEEK #3!!! I know that I am not the only one who agrees that the calls are getting worse as the season goes on, so it makes you wonder how bad the officiating is going to be next week. It needs to stop, and it needs to stop NOW

Third world countries......folks get a good look at that. The US will be there in 100 years.

Yes, thank God nothing horrific happens in the USA. I feel bad for these countries where massacres of innocent people regularly happen at movie theaters and supermarkets and marathons and schools. It's great the USA is so safe.

Rule 8 section 1 article 3 of the NFL rule book defines what a catch is per NFL rules. Rule 8 section 1 article 3 item 1 defines player having control going to the ground. Rule 8 section 1 article 3 item 5 covers dual possessions. Some of you guys need to read up on it. Nobody can answer my question in post 20. Frankly, I'm still surprised anyone is still crying about this a year later and condoning violence against amateur ref. Must have lost a bunch of money on the game.

You said to show you photos where Tate never had control of the ball.. I showed you 2... One where tate wasn't the first person to control the ball.. and a 2nd one where it shows that he was never even touching it before the touchdown signal was called.....

So, I did that.

I can show you rules on what a touchback is.

I can show you rules on what a safety is.

I can even show you rules on what having dual possession means.

Unfortunately, none of these rules apply to this play!

get back to the story instead of this stupid green bay packer crap that happened a year ago.

the reason why they killed the ref is because the ref stabbed and killed the player.
