Yesterday was the worst day I've had all year on any sport on any level. Embarrassed that I even posted. Once again won the 10* rather easily with Tennessee and a 7* with Baltimore, but other than that, it went down the drain. Anyway, what's to do except go on? I am still ahead for the year and it's the final talley that counts, not one horrendous day. Hopefully I got it all out of my system and it's not the beginning of a trend.

7* Miami -6
I expect the Chargers to be a bit down and deflated tonight. They thought they had a rare opportunity to host MNF, but instead they find themselves in Phoenix, of all places, while possibly worrying about family and homes in San Diego. In addition, while it's not exactly the fourth consesutive road game, it IS their 4th consecutive game away from home. I just don't think their hearts are going to be in this one. Dolphins' defense playing very well, and Chargers can have a problem with stopping the run. Why is Ricky Williams already smiling? Anyway, that's the way I see it -- good luck with your selection, whatever it might be.

I think this is just speculation and not really an angle. IMHO, I think the opposite angle is much more likely to pan out. Rather than be in a state of "disarray" as a team, disasters allow a team to come together. Of all teams sports, football is the ultimate team game. Moving to AZ helps the team settle down and get away from the chaos. The team spirit & emotion will be high.

Here's a little bit of history- during the 1991 Oakland hills fires, how did Cal and Raiders do?

Cal had just come off a loss to Washington (10/19/1991), fire started on 10/20, and Cal won their next 3-games, with the two games following the fire convincing blow outs. They only lost 1 game of their remaining 5 after the fire started.

Raiders won the next 5-of-6 games after the fire started (or 4-of-5 if you discount the game on 10/20/1991 as that was the day the fire started).

Now this info obviously is very small sample size and you need to look at more factors than just the W/L... but my point is just assuming that disaster=disarray is a non-proven theory and the opposite is very likely to be true.

Also, the nature of fires is that you have a pretty good idea if your family is in a high risk area or not. It's not like a flood or hurricane where you have no idea what may or may not have happened. Many of these guys have homes no where close to the fire and aren't even worried.

GL... my play is on SD. I like the matchups as they are, and think the move to AZ is even better for them. All the crazy SD fans in that area who get in for free... rooting for the underdog, and the positive emotional/spirit effect of shared strife, if any, falls on the side of SD not Miami, IMHO.

GL.
