Kickoff: 9 o'clock, Channel 7 and WDFN 1130. Line: Packers by 6 1/2.

Story line: Temperatures are likely to be in the 20s or low 30s at game time, with snow a possibility. That puts an emphasis on the rushing, which is a concern for the Packers with Ahman Green, who has been slowed by sore ribs. The Rams allow 4.8 yards a carry.

Notable: St. Louis has lost three of four; Green Bay has won five straight. ... The Rams are 27-0 when Marshall Faulk rushes for at least 100 yards. Quarterback Marc Bulger is 23-9 (.719) as a starter. ... Packers end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila has five sacks in the last three games after having 1 1/2 through the first seven games. ... Green Bay has allowed a league-low five sacks. ... Quarterback Brett Favre will make his 219th consecutive start, counting the playoffs. He is 36-1 at home when the temperature at kickoff is 34 or below. ... The Packers have a minus-13 turnover differential; the Rams are minus-11. ... St. Louis has capitalized on 12 turnovers to outscore Green Bay, 79-41, in their last two meetings.

</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2 height=9></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>GREEN BAY, WIS.-- An official decision has not been made, but it appears Packers running back Ahman Green will be held out of Monday's game against St. Louis to rest the injured cartilage in his rib cage and that Najeh Davenport will start in his place.

Green did not practice all week after being hurt last Sunday in Houston and still is listed as questionable.

The coaching staff had Green wear a flak jacket Saturday when they put him through some drills to see how the ribs felt. Coach Mike Sherman said a decision would not be made until Monday.

"I think there's always that opportunity that if he takes a direct shot, it could be tough on him," he said.

Running backs coach Johnny Roland said Davenport definitely will be active after sitting out last Sunday because of a hamstring injury. Fullback Nick Luchey (shoulder) also is optimistic he will be able to play Monday.
