How about mike leach's clock management with 5 min left and up 1 lol.... They were moving the ball on Stanford for the last 3 quarters and could have kept it moving had they just simply let the clock run down to 2-3 seconds before snapping. I get that he doesn't like to run the ball, which is cool, but you can still throw the ball and take time off the clock wth a lead in your schools potentially biggest win in a decade or more.... Instead he goes for the jugular first play on a go route down the sideline to have it be Incomplete and stop the clock, then goes with an obvious screen pass they ran about 5-7 times prior in that game and the DB jumps the route for a pick.... In all honesty they are fortunate to have even been in that game late.... Stanford was sleep walking all night, had two costly turnovers and then ultimately settled for a fg their final drive when they could have punched it in the end zone for a secure win and gone for two to go up 7...... So wazoo was lucky just to get to that point. Then Faulk CLEARLY FUMBLED that ball and the refs reviewed it and said his arm was going forward lol.... He checked his throw and completely stopped his arm, got bumped from his left side and the ball slipped out of his hand and went 1 yard in front of him, just like a fumble would and then was recovered by Stanford..... LOL PISS POOR OFFICIATING ALLL NIGHT.....
Wazoo played very hard and well, no one can take that away from them and I'm certainly not trying to, but they caught Stanford on an off night in my opinion.... Had stanfords OC made an earlier adjustment, hogan probably runs for 200+ yards and 3-4 tds..... That's not a joke either...
back ll to the time management tho, coaches et paid a lot of money to handle those situations and secure wins..... The good ones do it right, the average coaches always blow it lol
