Considering I dug myself a -5.5 unit hole to start the season, I can't complain too much with the final result. But, I wasted far too many units betting on my team, the Sounders.



　
　
I spent a lot of time the last two years researching situational angles. Some of them completely regressed to the mean and had to be discarded. Others have a two year win rate of 70% and higher. My goal this season is to keep my "opinion plays" to the absolute bare minimum, and to play all of my system plays. Including situations that occur against Seattle.

Saturday March 22 -- Wk. # 3

01:30pm Toronto FC -0.75 -130 vs. D.C. United - With the addition of M. Bradley and J. Defoe, Toronto looks much improved from last season. They carved up the Seattle defense several times in their 2-1 win. DC did not look good losing at home 0-3 to Columbus. Don't think the early bye will be enough time for them to sort things out defensively. I can't pass this up as an opinion play as Toronto have the look of a playoff team, and will be playing their home opener in front of a sold out crowd.

Saturday, March 29 -- Wk. # 4

07:30pm San Jose -0.5 -125 vs. New England - New England haven't scored in three games. Away losses at Hou. 0-4 and Phi. 0-1, and a 0-0 home draw to Van. San Jose played well in their CCL series against Toluca, 2-2 on agg., losing on PK's 4-5. Also, coming from two goals down to salvage a 3-3 home draw to RSL. They didn't look that bad in a 0-1 away loss to SKC on short rest, and could've tied it late. As bad as SJ were on the road last season, they are still very tough at home, going 21W-2L-12D in the regular season since the start of 2012. Think they get it done tonight.

Saturday, April 5 -- Wk. # 5

12:00pm Portland vs. Seattle FC +0.5 -125 - Portland have conceded the first goal in all four games this season going 0W-2L-2D and 0W-4L ATS. Starting GK D. Ricketts must sit again, and Forward D. Nagbe is questionable. Looking for the Sounders to bounce back, after they fell apart late in a 1-2 home loss to Columbus.

Yes it was. Thought I was watching an Eredivisie match.

The Sounders obviously have a lot of defensive issues, but they didn't quit. And, finally Dempsey comes through with a big game.

I feel very fortunate to win my bet.
