Ryan Drese starts today for Texas after pitching 4 1/3 in relief on Thursday. In essence it will be a bullpen effort for the Rangers today.
Joel Pineiro takes his 11.17 ERA and looks to improve on that against a sound lineup that is hitting .349 against RHP.

Can anyone explain to me how Jason Jennings can consistently pitch so poorly on the road and so well at Coors? Today he faces a lineup that should fatten up on their .302 team batting average.
Woody Williams is still a huge question mark for St. Louis and he is followed by a larger mess in the Card bullpen.
10 of the last 11 between these two have gone over the total. 163 runs scored for a 14.8 average!

Rematch of the 4/7 game in which Wilson out dueled Maddux for a 3-1 victory. Only allowing 1 earned run in his 14.1 innings this year Wilson will mirror Maddox in pitching style but the results have been anything but the same. I will continue to fade Maddux until he shows me I shouldn’t.

Two teams going in opposite directions. All it took for Philly to show some sign of life is for a visit by the Las Vegas Expos.
